I had a closer look at Solness and what puts me off is the fact that on his three trips to GB he was beaten 20, 25 and 42 lengths. Maybe he doesn’t like to travel. Otherwise he would be a very tempting price.
You could argue that JPR One ran a decent race in the Ryanair, but he only beat Matata and Master Chewy.
Gidleigh Park is way too short at just 5/1 in a G1 race as he is only 1 from 5 over fences. The fav is the class act and the stable is going great guns, but I don’t back horses at 6/4 in such a competitive race.
I’m hoping for L’Eau du Sud to recapture his Shloer form and have backed him at 12/1 WIN only.

I’ll also bet Solness to win, and I’ve already bet Saint Segal 50-1 ew 3 places

    JPR One 18-1 ew 3pl b365

I think he’ll like this trip and track and the ground isn’t too soft.

Can’t believe Gidleigh Park is only 7/2…. Why?

Great ride and a well deserved win. Fantastic battle and I still don’t get Gidleigh Park’s SP.

What a performance and an absolutely perfect ride.

I’m gutted as I switched from Grey Dawning to Solness 5 mins before the race.

I don’t rate Slevin in the slightest and I still don’t after that. Why didn’t he slow things down after he’d broken Gidleigh Park. He was on a G1 winning 2 miler so a sprint finish vs a gruelling stamina test would’ve suited him vs the grey.

He shouldn’t have let Skelton up the inside either. Kennedy certainly didn’t make that mistake yesterday. Slevins a clown of a jockey.

The one time I decide to watch Grey Dawning he comes in at 5s. Wonder if they will persist with the Gold Cup next year?

The more I know the less I understand.
