I am a former private member of Mel Collier’s private tipping service. It was not a success but I am very interested to find out what he is doing now?

    walter,

He was closely associated with Henry Rix, often putting up the same horses and operating from the same business address in Glasgow.

I don’t know where he is now, but when he was Pricewise in the Racing Post, he was very good indeed. I feel sure he is still analysing the form somewhere, probably for one of the prominent tipping lines. I hope so, anyway, because he certainly knew his stuff.

    Hi

I hope he hasn’t topped himself.

I still chuckle about my £100 ew on Papillon at 33/1.

    Hi cormack15

    sorry.

It’s just that he charged fortunes for his private service, and it was a disaster.  He must have got a bit fed up.

I was on Papillion as it happened as well but not as a result of Mel.

Maybe he will make a comeback like all the great boxers?

It was always said(about boxers at the very highest level) that they never came back once they were knocked off their pedestal. The game was just too tough, the training too demanding and the ‘head’ had to be right. But that was when fighters were hungry for success. Now, things are different.

Nothing to do with Mel Collier, I know, but maybe comebacks are easier than they used to be.
