He’s taken some hammer today hasn’t he.
Great courage from the man to put in a fantastic ride on Alberta’s Run, especially when he got such a kick earlier in the day when falling from Jered.
Hope he’s ok for tomorrow.

Reported on ATR that he may struggle to be fit for tomorrow.
I’d be very surprised if he misses out (the source of the above report was Luke Harvey!!).

March 18, 2010 at 20:05 #283736Real up and down day in every sense of the word for AP wasn’t it, after a fall anything like that first one I’m sure I’d be heading for my bed (and I’ve ridden for years so I’ve had a corker or two), you can’t help but be impressed with someone going on to give another horse a ride like that one on Alberta’s Run. Hope he can ride tomorrow, he was practically hopping off the course after the Song of Songs fall.
March 18, 2010 at 20:44 #283744A horse that’s apparently not what he was, a jockey likewise, a fall in the prep race & now it looks like they’re going to need a step ladder to get McCoy on board.
‘The Ballad Of The Tank & The Champion’
is starting to look more like a Hollywood ‘triumph over adversity’ movie with each passing moment.Bring popcorn!
March 18, 2010 at 21:01 #283751McCoy made a promise to Trevor Hemmings that he would ride Albertas Run today; he’d’ve ridden that horse to victory with a broken leg….total respect for the man [this from moi; McCoys biggest critic]
March 18, 2010 at 21:10 #283753In an ideal world he’d put the horses before himself, but it’s the last day. Look what happened with Choc Thornton last festival.
March 18, 2010 at 22:09 #283768It is not his decision, he has to pass the doctor and if the medic no then he has no appeal no matter who he is.
If he is passed fit to ride he will give Denman a good ride make no mistake
March 19, 2010 at 12:14 #283894Has apparently skipped into work without a bother on him this morning, according to the
Post
‘s on-course reporter.
