‘Lefties annual gathering’, ffs can we leave politics out of things for five minutes. There’s enough threads about that as it is.
June 26, 2022 at 00:23 #1604199Been waiting all night for Band on the Run …current fav , written about the Beatles just before the breakup

June 26, 2022 at 00:30 #1604201Nice of these people to fly all the way over the Atlantic to just do two songs.
I thought Glastonbury was all about Greta and saving the planet?

Sorry Richard – but you have to see what a lot of hypocrisy that is?
June 26, 2022 at 00:33 #1604203CAS you have a point but after all the covid and partygate shite it’s nice to just chill out and enjoy watching 2 hours of top notch music , best gig I’ve seen in years

Absolutely, hence why I’ll be watching back the bits of this that I missed rather than Greta’s lectures.
That’s two hours 10 minutes now and Hey Jude goes on forever, brilliant.
June 26, 2022 at 00:42 #1604206Yes, fair enough HDLG. The hypocrisy is comical rather than annoying.
Any competent session musician could have done what Grohl and Springsteen did.
June 26, 2022 at 00:44 #1604207True CAS but still loved it , surely he,ll finish on All you need is love , he,s 80 , done 2 hours and yet he,s not even blowing hard …. He,s a god

June 26, 2022 at 00:56 #1604214Turned it over when he sang 4 songs on the trot never heard of.
June 26, 2022 at 00:59 #1604216I walked down Penny Lane on Friday and there must have been about three coaches parked at the end, with queues of tourists waiting to have their photos taken by the street sign. I have never seen so many before.
I like the fact that it still just looks like any ordinary road while at the same time being one of the most famous streets in the world.
June 26, 2022 at 01:00 #1604218St Vincent’s set yesterday was sublime, worth checking out on iPlayer.

I think there were a few too many songs from his solo albums, whereas he only scratched the surface of the Beatles catalogue.
His voice is not great nowadays but I suppose that is only to be expected for an 80 year old man.
High: “Something”. Great song and a beautiful tribute to his friend.
Low: “Ob La Di, Ob La Da”. Sorry, I cannot stand it!
June 26, 2022 at 07:25 #1604243Glastonbury is the ultimate evolution of a race meeting – eventually they don’t bother having any racing at all.
Glastonbury generated zero betting turnover, consequently contributed zero to the Levy but didn’t need Jermaine Jenas to promote it so saved a bit there.
JockeyClubRacecourses are therefore claiming the event a success and a net win.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"June 26, 2022 at 07:55 #1604246Some good uns in there including Junior’s Farm (presumably referencing where they were playing), Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five (final song from the brilliant BOTR album), a good chunk of the Abbey Road 2nd side and of course Maybe I’m Amazed (possibly referencing himself doing this at 80).
