    Well they might have got in trouble in the big CH field. It’s possible Benie wouldn’t have had the pace to get up as well. Honeysuckle…maybe. Remember the Apple’s/Laurina hype when both ran over a suboptimal trip in the champion hurdle and did no good. As opposed to the fab Apples/VVM/Limini dingdong finish in the mares that was fun to watch. I’d much rather see Honeysuckle and Benie fighting out a good finish over their favoured 2m4f than getting swamped in the CH field.

    *OK not a totally fair comparison as Laurina is perhaps a leetle bit of a carthorse compared to Benie, and perhaps Laurina bled and Apples was in season or something. But still.

    Tbh having watched the race I dont think either of them wouldve had any chance at all in the champion hurdle, especially with how easily epatante won
