I make that 2012 Cheltenham wins for Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales (is that unique??).

Were any French-trained horses running this year?

    non

In fact, unless I’m mistaken, the only entries were Guy Cherel’s Divapour in the Supreme and Francois Cottin’s Quezac De La Roque in the Crass Country.

With the vastly superior levels of prize money in their own country it is hardly surprising. Francois Doumen ran Kasbah Bliss in Dubai rather than Cheltenham although he seems better when not having silly obstacles in his way nowadays anyway.

The french jumps trainers don’t need to bother racing for prize money

They just got to wait until it’s their horse’s turn to get placed in an average race in France and some crazy Englishman offers them a fortune for it
