Good point Ginge.. He wouldn’t have run in the QE11 anyway as the going was soft

“We are very disappointed to release the news that Rosallion will be a non-runner in the Sussex Stakes tomorrow at Goodwood. He has got a slight respiratory infection, and just isn’t his usual self at home.

It has not been a difficult decision to make, considering how incredible he has been for the whole yard and how much he means to the team and to his owner. We have to put his welfare at the very top of our priorities.

He will miss this one, but there is still a big chunk of the season to come, where he will be able to be the horse we all know and love.”

All three races at Newbury today have beaten Racing Post Standard; despite the pace seemingly favouring those ridden near the front end. Without any tailwind all points to pretty firm ground.

It is a game of opinions but Rishi Persad assured ITV viewers yesterday that we would see a sensational performance from Rosallion today.

I get the feeling a few of these will be swapping wins over the season , very closely matched , fantastic to watch but a mare to punt on

tbh The Lockingec makes future Group 1 miles even more difficult.

It was only on TV judgement but both Rosallion and Notable Speech looked as though they’d come on for the run… And both had to come stand side. Worst place to be. Breaking Newbury down to four quarters across the track, the third quarter is usually favoured – where Lead Artist and Dancing Gemini came.
I hear William Hill are going 9/2 all four for the Queen Anne.

Wouldn’t rule out Tamfana and to a degree Fallen Angel when there’s more give in the ground. Especially when Menuisieur is in better form.

Wouldnt say personally it makes it more difficult, rosallion will absolutely hammer notable speech into 2nd and The other two have had their day in the sun

Rosallion and NS are by far the best two horses in that race

Delighted with how the bet went today as i had a fair bit on it and am currently walking down to hills with 6 months of statements, passport driving license and my dental records to get this payout

But the best two horses in the race finished 3rd and 4th

Forget the rest nto, havent a prayer

Had the winner, but I feel sorry for both backers and trainer of the second.
Hope Dancing Gemini wins a Group 1 for Roger teal. After an unlucky second in the French 2000 and today looking the winner only to be run out of it. :rose:

Should he have been run out of it with two previous runs behind him
Lead Artist clearly not fit LTO

He was “run out of it” for whatever reason, Nathan. ie Looked the winner only to get beat. The reason might be valid or not. I’d like to know the sectional times of each horse today. Maybe Ryan made a move to get to Lead Artist that was too quick. Making ground up when the pace was at its fastest… And paying for that move close home.

Gosden said Lead Artist didn’t like the ground last time.

He didn’t say that to the stewards after the race that day though CAS
