After the recent post on the Lexus chase, I spent hours going back through previous leopardstown results and correcting the RP standard times.
The results on how far out I found the RP standard times to be in seconds:
2m2f(H) – 8.0s
2m4f(H) – 7.0s
3m(H) – 21.0s
2m1f(C) – 1.0s
2m3f(C) – 14.0s
2m5f(C) – 25.0s
3m(C) – 28.0s
3m100y(C)- 30.0sHere are my speed figures from yesterday’s Leopardstown meeting, you can compare them against the Racing Post’s Top Speed figures, and you will see a major difference.
Going allowance -0.40s/f (Good to soft)
Leopardstown (IRE)
18-Jan-15
12:50 Golan Road 2m 102
01:20 Fletcher 2m4f 86
01:50 Vautour 2m3f 127
02:20 Foxrock 2m5f 130
02:50 Katie T 2m 109
03:20 Mydor 3m 90
03:50 Balko Des Flos 2m 73For the record, I did ask several times for the Leopardstown RP standard times to reviewed without any success, the reason for the variations in the standards was put down to the going and rail movements <!– s:shock: –>

January 21, 2015 at 08:43 #502324I finally got around to looking at the
Top Speed
figures for last Sundays meeting at
Leopardstown
.
Top Speed:
Leopardstown (IRE)
18-Jan-15
12:50 Golan Road 2m
105
01:20 Fletcher 2m4f
46
01:50 Vautour 2m3f
68
02:20 Foxrock 2m5f
26
02:50 Katie T 2m
118
03:20 Mydor 3m
9
03:50 Balko Des Flos 2m
69
What impressed me the most was the speed figure of
9
awarded to 3m hurdle winner
Mydor
when I made it
90
, then what do I know I am only a amateur

I do believe that the
Racing Post
are now in charge of the racing data, my thoughts on that are…be afraid, be very afraid
January 21, 2015 at 10:24 #502331So I was correct about the standards being wrong then BB, it wasn’t the distances being incorrect after all?
Google maps are a must really aren’t they with all these errors at courses?
Well, except for Haydock, which we must assume is a bit of a mystery to everyone in the industry after the weekend’s palaver.
