    Talking of trivia. If you want to cross Skippers Brig then travel north from Carlisle on the A7 heading for Edinburgh Just before you enter Langholm you will come to a bridge with lights on either side of a tighe S bend. That is Skippers Brig.

    That’s a bit too far for me-but I have walked through Venn Ottery

    Mr Lungo looked several times as if he was going to be a force to be reckoned with but it never happened.

    But every time he put a runner out it had to be respected.
