I know it’s only a bit of fun and I shouldn’t take it too seriously but surely to qualify you should be retired for at least a couple of years and not weeks, as in both Sam Whaley Cohen and Megan Nichols.
September 6, 2022 at 20:48 #1613595There are five 3 year olds set to carry 11st 2lb; if any ‘go wrong’, it’s Goodnight Vienna for them.
September 6, 2022 at 20:59 #1613598Completely agree Worzel.
At least SWC can be called a legend. Not so sure about Nichols.
September 6, 2022 at 21:40 #1613600Agree about Nicholls, especially as she has only just retired. But to be fair, there are quite a few people riding in tomorrow’s race who stretch the definition of the word legend!

Well…plenty of flat bred 3 year olds are carrying about that weight 2 miles over hurdles at this time of year.
September 6, 2022 at 22:35 #1613605I like the St Leger meeting but it has always spread the quality thin over four days and this year is no exception.
Poor contest.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"September 7, 2022 at 08:15 #1613631The Leger meeting next year is reduced to three days, with the Wednesday fixture replaced by one at Bath. So this seems likely to be the last running of the Legends race.
September 7, 2022 at 08:55 #1613637Until the ground at Bath is deemed to be too firm and the fixture gets transferred somewhere else.
September 7, 2022 at 09:12 #1613641The Leger meeting is still four days next year. It runs from Thursday to Sunday.
