It does appear to be softer than you’d think it should be, Mike. In the two days Ascot meeting nothing has beaten Racing Post Standard.

Not as much of a negative for Westover and Tasso.

“Have backed Emily with a saver on Mishriff”.

Now on Tasso as a main bet @ 14/1 too

A small wager on Tasso; the ground at Hamburg was officially GS, but it looked more like good to me, so hoping he can cope today.

Westover sweating up in the parade ring

He’s always been a keen goer so may be pretty normal

    Well that was dissapointing

    Wd winners.

Strange race. 3 year olds left far behind.

Westover and Emily were both far too keen. Lovely Arc trial for the defending champ I’d say. Nice to see smaller connections get their big day. What a horse he is always defies expectations

No excuses for any horses in such a small field; Tasso ran a great race considering ground was, allegedly, against him, although i’m not sure it was, as i posted earlier.
    WD winners :good:

    Love Pyledriver
I abandoned him today but delighted for the trainer who has always said he is a very good horse

Don’t think it was strange , Mishriff has missed the break before and Westover has sweated before ( plus I don’t think he,s a superstar ) Pyledriver was cherry ripe and he knows his job , no sweating or playing up just got the job done

    Westover and Emily too free.
Mishriff gave them a start but didn’t stay.
Broome probably went for home too early in a strongly run race.
However, great to see a small owner and trainer win a big race.
Pyledriver won well. Brilliant for Willie Muir and PJ.

Hes a bit of a monkey still properly looking around and wandering. Suspect PJ would have liked something to take him in for longer
