I The Ante-Post King am dedicating this race to “FIST”!
The King George is a great race where in years gone by top class 3yo”s
lay it down to their elders, both colts and fillies! This year will hopefully
see a race where a Derby winner and an Oaks winner meet! The sort of horse i can see turning up are as follows! Youmzain, Frozen Fire, Casual
Conquest, Look here, Crowded House, Black Bear Island, Vision D”tat,
Ask, Fame and Glory, Eastern Anthem, Beauty O Gwaun, it would be nice
to see either Fantasia/ Rainbow View if they stay to turn up too! The Horse
i shall be backing is last years Derby runner up “Tartan Bearer”! Why i hear you ask Fist? Well, this horse is a 11/2m horse, not a 11/4m! he handles good fast summer ground, but also a bit of cut suits no problem,
he comes from a family that improve with age, his owners have targeted
the race before and won! His full brother Golan won the race in 2002,and just to top that “The Ante-Post King” likes everything about this horse
his style of running, his Trainer/Jockey combination, even his looks.
Oh yes Tartan Bearer all being well, will be seen lining up in this years
King George! Now let me go and find 12/1!!April 26, 2009 at 22:07 #223761AnonymousInactive- Total Posts 17716

My thoughts exactly..
April 26, 2009 at 22:57 #223771If you can even find a market for this before June TAPK then well done

Same again.
After Fists has made it perfectly clear that he is getting fed up with the sniping, and a few others have highlighted their annoyance, is it really so wise to start a thread (about one of the biggest races of the year, no less) with a snipe towards fists?
An approach to posting that is very boring, and becoming ever more irritating with every petty dig.
April 26, 2009 at 23:04 #223774Just for a bit of fun, I think Black Bear Island will be AOB’s horse for this this year if all goes to plan. It’s miles off though but thats the point of ante post I guess
Give me a price on that and I’ll take a little bit of it
April 26, 2009 at 23:08 #223778Is Conduit injured?
Why won’t Moore be riding that one instead?

If Conduit turns up Gerald he’ll win at a very short price I wouldve thought.
He could go undefeated this season if he’s dropped in right

My understanding is that Conduit’s target is the King George and will be aiming TB at the Eclipse. Granted things can change but at a guess I would think SMS would like to be represented in both and Conduit most def won’t be going for the Eclipse.
April 26, 2009 at 23:58 #223792The profile of this race has changed markedly in the last five years, TAPK …making your projected line up very optimistic, even if those named prove the best of their generation.
April 27, 2009 at 00:04 #223795Conduit would be well fancied for the King George, but i feel he could be a
2 mile+ horse this year, so see him as an Ascot Gold Cup horse!April 27, 2009 at 00:15 #223798I’m not keen on 4yos running in the Gold Cup.

Fair enough Gerald, but since1995 more 4yo"s have won the race than any other age group!
April 27, 2009 at 00:26 #223801Conduit wont run in the Gold Cup TAPK.
The fact that Patkai is entered in a 2 miler at Ascot this week and given Patkais strong record at Ascot I think he will be SMS’s horse for the Gold Cup.
Thats the one price that appeals to me the most antepost at the moment too (other than Overdose in the King Stand)
April 27, 2009 at 00:28 #223802I always think that if you’ve got a 4yo that is good enough to win the Gold Cup, then you should be investigating other opportununites anyway.
I also worry about the affect/effect it has on the rest of the 4yo’s season.
viz, Coastal Path for one.

As Sir Michael only has Ask and Patkai entered for the Gold Cup, TAPK, I somehow doubt that Conduit’s participation has been overlooked. And isn’t it strange that Tartan Bearer is again due to run over ten furlongs (of the four group entries he currently has – not including the Eclipse – only one is over twelve furlongs), in elevated company, despite the trip supposedly counting against him at the weekend?
Still, who is Sir Michael to disagree with the king?

Equi, oh wise one, this thread is about the King George, so i am not
particularly bothered about whats running in the Gold Cup, I see Conduit
as a stayer though! My thread is about Tartan Bearer being a King George
horse! -
