This afternoon Turf TV sent a wrong opening show for Wafeira (11/1) instead of 11/2. See link to Racing Post article above.
However instead of simply accepting it was an error and deleting it and sending a new show they tried to cover their tracks by sending shows of 8s, 7s, 6s, 9/2, with SP 4/1.
Richard Hoiles flagged it on RUK as being a mistake and that although it seemed a massive gamble was ensuing he advised viewers it was an error – well done to Richard.
I have no vested interest but it does question the integrity of Turf TV’s people that they would try to hide a rick in this obvious fashion instead of sending eroor messages around the industry and being honest.
At a time when we read on a daily basis about small bookies firms going under or struggle to make a living surely they deserve a bit better than this?
August 23, 2010 at 16:58 #314394Were there any witnesses to what the Three Tramps actually chalked up? Of course not, how silly of me and how convenient….
It was 12s on the machine and then went down to to around 8s in pretty much one hit. That would be in line with the original shows.
Has history been re-written here? Have the Sunbury Lizards carried out a heist on us heoric arbers? Does anyone know a decent lawyer? Stay tuned folks – same bat time, same bat channel…….

All I know is that William Hill the dirty scroungers were priced up at 130% and going 8/1 on Walfiera with everyone else 10/1 and some 12/1 in places.
August 23, 2010 at 17:47 #314402Was this at the course Mr Wilson?

Was this at the course Mr Wilson?
On the internet mate, this was a good 10 mintues before the race had started aswell.
August 23, 2010 at 18:36 #314410Interesting that Corals, Hills and Ladbrokes will honour the 11/1 bets struck on Wafeira.
I know cynics might point to said froms’ close links with SIS and perhaps suggest this is an exercise is maximising bad press for Turf TV, however the fact remains Turf TV made a rather lumpy mistake and their people tried to cover it up.
It begs the question how naive and green are their people – surely it was obvious to anyone with access to a computer within seconds that the opening show was a mistake. It doesn’t fill one with confidence, and youhave to wonder how many less obvious mistakes go unnoticed?
September 27, 2010 at 16:59 #319713I see in today’s RP that TurfTV have sacked three people over the incorrect betting shows.
As I sure most of us realised TurfTV have confirmed there was ‘no integrity issue’ and describe it as ‘a cock-up, followed by stupidity’.
I’m not sure I agree with them being sacked as they are very unlikely to make the same mistake again but I guess the company had no other option
September 27, 2010 at 19:41 #319745turf tv, embarrassing, total amateurs, pay peanuts get monkeys.
good to see usual suspects blaming bookmakers.
September 27, 2010 at 19:48 #319747Edit – it’s not worth it.
September 27, 2010 at 19:55 #319749such bitchy comments,
at least I’m a real loudmouth, not embarrassingly hiding behind silly names.

September 27, 2010 at 20:05 #319753Ok Dennis, you win this one. You’re not worth it and I shouldn’t have given you the satisfaction of engaging with you. I certainly shan’t in the future.
