December 26, 2009 at 17:08 #265644An awesome performance from Kauto Star, I was crying by the end of the race at his majesty of his win, brilliant!
December 26, 2009 at 17:24 #265649He did it oh so easily – FAN-TAS-TIQUE!!!!!
December 26, 2009 at 18:31 #265673He won like a great horse should in magnificent style. Salute one of the greats of the game. Aproper horse who will live longer in the public memory thany any three year old packed off to stud without running beyond that age and I mean that with all due respect ot the achievements of Sea The Stars who was a champion but will never race again due to commercial expediencey.

Best horse that has lived, best horse that will ever live
FFFFFFFFACT!
CROWD TODAY WAS IMMENSE, ON TERMS WITH ANY CHELT FESTIVAL – FACT MATE
December 26, 2009 at 19:17 #265684You can understand why Paul Nicholls is so fond of him. In his autobiography, he said that if he had one apple left he’d give it to Kauto.
Such a beautiful, flashy head on him, with that lovely white blaze that looks like it’s been painted on. Henry Cecil said that the one thing he looks for in a horse is long ears. Kauto Star has enormous ears and he’s clearly an intelligent member of the equine species!
He has speed, stamina and, as we have witnessed on many occasion, incredible courage. He’s a born winner and such an endearing character.
He looked an absolute picture today. I noticed the tone in his coat when they were saddling him up.
He has no flaws these days and we should continue to appreciate the relatively small time we have left to see him on a racecourse.

Don’t think I’ve had quite as much to drink as Mr. Wilson
, but if anyone asks me (yet again) what it is about horseracing that fascinates me so much, I will simply say Kauto Star, Boxing Day 2009.I’ve finally seen a performance from a chaser to rival Arkle’s.

Is that you Luke?

O/T – really special performance, fair enough things went his way and it wasn’t a strong renewal, but it will be hard to forget the manner of the success. Roll on King Kauto v Denman
December 26, 2009 at 19:40 #265688He didnt just win but he demolished a top class field by a country mile.
Cannot wait now for the decider at Cheltenham between him and Denman.
This is what horse racing is all about as far as i am concerend.
December 26, 2009 at 20:45 #265700absolutely brilliant, the way he accelerated down the home straight was unforgettable.
A small caveat is that once Imperial Commander made his mistake, the othere were obviously so inferior that the victory was just a tad bloodless.
Great horses need great rivalsI remember watching KS’s debut, at Newbury I think, when he absolutely thrashed Foreman, and thinking he was a monster. Amazing to think he missed that season, thru injury, and fell in the 2 miler at the next festival, and has still managed 4 KGs and 2 GCs by the age of nine
December 26, 2009 at 21:00 #265708A scintillating performance and one of the reasons I love the game so much.
At the time the start of the King George came around my balance for the day was in a shocking state, but when you see performances like that of Kauto Star all of a sudden things like that don’t matter that much and all you can do is appreciate the brilliance you have just witnessed.
I was sat watching at home in my living room and from absolutely knowhere when Ruby took up the running…my little 8 year old girl just shouted "go on Kauto Star" and looked round to me and said…"it’s gonna win Dad"!
It absolutely astounded me because I wasn’t aware she was taking any notice at all and I hadn’t said anything. It just shows she had taken note and from what she had seen, she had appreciated something special had just happened.
It was a moment that will live with me forever!
Well done to Kauto Star, Paul Nicholls, Ruby Walsh and all connected with the horse and I thoroughly look forward to the next couple of months and the build up we are gonna get in anticipation of a Gold Cup ‘decider’ between him and Denman…
December 26, 2009 at 21:06 #265711It isnt Kauto Star’s fault that today’s opposition was second rate by comparison.
Denman remains the only NH in training who is still capable of defeating him at level weights.

Exactly 15L?
December 26, 2009 at 21:29 #265719What a year for horse racing! Kauto, Denman, Sea The Stars.
We are so privaleged to have the likes of Kauto and Denman around.
What an astonishing horse, even Denman would’ve been beaten double figure lengths today.
The greatest steeplechaser I’ve ever seen.
