Can anyone give me info on Flyingbolt. Officially he is the second best National Hunt racehorse of all time, after Arkle. Race Record, race colours, etc, would be appreciated. Many thanks.
May 9, 2015 at 18:22 #959966there’s quite a bit of info on wikipedia if you trust it. However, Flyingbolt was owned by Mrs T G Wilkinson who’s colours were :- oxford blue with an orange hoop , black sleeves , orange cap.
Cheers

May 12, 2015 at 11:01 #976804July 6, 2015 at 23:02 #1125474A rangy chestnut with a big white blaze. In my eyes he was a purer jumper than Arkle, and was probably unbeatable up to 2 1/2 miles. Unfortunately illness robbed him of his brilliance at a young age (for a steeplechaser) and we never got to see how good he really could be.
July 7, 2015 at 07:44 #1126158He was conceived in unusual circumstances. The 1946 Derby and St Leger winner Airborne had become infertile and was retired from stud duties. He was run in a paddock with a companion, an aged and repeatedly barren mare called Eastlock. She was found to be in foal and that foal was Airborne.
