If you wanted that title, you’d get on your bike and hit a few more tracks and ride for a lot more trainers.
Hughes has had more rides than anyone this season. The weather hasn’t helped whilst Johnson has been out also.March 1, 2020 at 08:27 #1484318I’d love to see Sean Bowen go close 1 year
Me too. Underrated jockey in my opinion.
March 1, 2020 at 09:23 #1484324Looking at the championship , jonjo junior min is 10.4 … Not a good sign for such a young lad
March 17, 2020 at 19:41 #1486412Now that the jumps season is effectively over does this mean that Brian Hughes is Champion Jockey? Or is the Championship null and void?
March 17, 2020 at 21:19 #1486419He should be crowned Champion Jockey IMO but hardly the way he would have wanted it to be. Unfortunately no prize to pick up at Sandown though. I presume Bookies will pay out on this although there may be something in the small print
March 19, 2020 at 09:05 #1486476What’s so complicated ?
Brian Hughes is champion as he’s ridden most winners up to the cancellations.
If racing had been ended due to an outbreak of foot & mouth, equine flu or 6 weeks of ice and snow there’d be no questions asked.
I.
March 19, 2020 at 14:55 #1486489According to the PJA.co.uk page it says:
The Jump Jockeys Championship is decided on ridden winners in National Hunt races from 4 May 2019 to 25 April 2020
That’s why we have to wait until the 20th of April until the winning trophy can be presented to either Hughes or Johnson.
