Time tells you they let US Army Ranger have an easy lead… Fools.
Brando may well have won had he been drawn on the right side. Boo hoo.

Blue Point below form, looks a worse than average July Cup.

Probs below par ok…(only caught race in car while parking) but USNF was fairly decent even still…

Will watch back later + see better, the delay maybe didn’t help 1 or 2!

Limato is a six year old and a small six year old at that.
Trainer has done well to keep him going for as long as he has.

Trainer has done well to keep him going for as long as he has.

Don’t agree with this. He’s spent too much time dicking about with his trip, trying to get a horse fast enough to win a July Cup and finish second in the Nunthorpe… into a miler. Four times.

I’d get him into a different yard and try and get the spark back into him.

Been a big supporter of USNF for a while now and great to see him get his first G1 as a 3YO.

All year AOB has said he will improve as the season goes on. When you look at his full sister Roly Poly’s 3 YO form she won her first of 3 G1’s after Royal Ascot despite having 4 runs.

A real shame there are not that many 7f G1 races as he would be more or less unbeatable over that trip.

Fair shout, and I shouldn’t have disparaged the job Candy has done with the horse. Getting any horse to win two Group 1s is a great training performance. He should have won more, though, and as a big fan of the horse it’s disappointing to see the sorry state he’s in at the moment because at his best he would have laughed at this lot today.

Assuming they now stick to 6-7F, races like the Prix Maurice de Gheest, Sprint Cup at Haydock, Foret on Arc weekend and the British Champions Sprint or even the Everest sprint down under are likely.

However, going the Aussie route will likely rule out the Foret & British Champions Sprint due to having to go into quarantine.

Very disappointed with Limato’s run yesterday’ yet to watch the race replay but in the paddock he looked absolutely fine and ready to do the job, no negatives, not sweating at all on an extremely hot day. You can’t blame the trainer he just lost to a better horse on the day.

Still can’t figure out why Coolmore ran mob handed when USNF was going to make all, only to make more horses for the other main players to steer around I guess. :negative:

Great run from Brando…always my pick of the paddock, as he walks past you a dark shadow is cast over us all, he is so big and looks like he could eat the whole field for breakfast, always runs his heart out. :rose:

The bookies made a fortune out of Blue Points run, I doubt he will be back next year totally unsuited to the track. He didnt shine in the paddock.
Meanwhile Goolphin went on to claim 3 winners at the meeting.

Ryan Moore put in a quick double flying over to France to win on Kew Gardens.

Well done Botchy and all USNF supporters for keeping the faith.. :good: Jac

Jac, on the Coolmore runners, i’d say they all need to run somewhere! They couldn’t have been certain that USNF would win, so perhaps a case of running a few just in case…A horse like Fleet Review placing in a G1 feels mad to me!

    WD backers! :good:

Fair point Jack they do have an overspill of horses needing races and guess all fell right for USNF and Fleet Review.

Still disappointed that Limato has now lost his 6f sprinting record of never being out of the first three, will be interested to read Mr Candy’s report on his run. Jac :rose:
