This is definitely a race where I would like to see Enfjaar run, but I don’t know if he would be a very big price, as he does look like being one of the more obvious ones at this time

Another race where I look for a Guineas runner dropping back in grade/distance but this race in my opinion is really poor.

The more I know the less I understand.

Agree RTB. The favourite won well last time but he is a very short price for a horse that has never won a Group race. No doubt the “Frankie Factor” is involved.

I have backed Holloway Boy at 10/1. Ran an OK race in the Guineas but has not won since his victory in the Chesham on debut on this day last year.

Perhaps he is an Ascot specialist? I would rather be on him at five times the price of the favourite, anyway.

I like Covey but he’s too short for what he has done so far, this is another step up for him

Holloway Boy has been running in big boy races and this looks easier for him on paper. 7f I’m not sure about but it’s a straight 7f and like Cork says he won at Ascot last year and is a big price

I’ve sided with The Antarctic. Ew 4 places.

I agree CAS Holloway Boy fits the brief I look for. Next best Quar Shamar but it isn’t a gripping renewal.

Winner based on Classic form: Quar Shamar.

Winner based on overall form: Olivia Moralde.

Winner based on “backed it a million times, followed it over a feckin cliff, finally pops up again on the very same card over the very same trip where it got its head in front on racecourse debut a YEAR ago:” Holloway Boy.

Rather than describing horses as “cliff horses,” they should instead be labelled “mental health bet” horses.

Money invested (aka written off) backing them is insurance against the abject depression you lapse into the day they win unbacked by you.

Holloway Boy, returning to the scene of that C/D Chesham win, that promised so much yet frankly has thus far delivered so little since, is Classic Mental Health Bet material.

People spend fortunes on therapy and counselling, this is the equivalent for punters, so I completely get it.

First time on good to firm since debut

I didn’t back him on debut so this doesn’t apply to me but Holloway Boy can lose the next 30 plus races and still show a level stakes profit

He needs a fast pace today otherwise it’s becomes curtains

His win last year the principal market leaders cut each others throats. He’ll be a sitting duck to the likes of the speedy ones including Jacs “mental health bet” The Antarctic

My main bet is Olivia Maralde, with what amount to savers on Quar Shamar and Holloway Boy.
