In the mile race at Newmarket last year, won by Masked Marvel in a faster time than, I think, than either of the Guineas – but certainly than the one on the same card – Jedburgh was actually the moral winner – taking his weight into account.
He won again, of course, recently, as did Thyolo who was also placed, and I feel he’s worth following.
Since the connections of the other horses in the race on Saturday won by Iffraaj, would, I imagine, have strongly suspected who the likely winner would be, I would think some of the better "also rans", such as Jedburgh, may have been ridden "tactically", not to say "strategically", accordingly.
