Yes, LD. I’ve had no bet on either horses, but when things go against you it’s tough to get out of that downward spiral. Honestly, I think COT is one of the worst favs in the race’s history. But this remains to be seen.
October 30, 2024 at 16:06 #1711228I don’t suppose it gets much notice on these shores when a local hoss is ruled out for Breeders cup/Melbourne cup but it does happen and that’s because they all go through the same tests, stringent as they are.
There’s no conspiracy here.
Don’t ask me for proof, I just know a guy.October 30, 2024 at 16:55 #1711230I can’t get over the fact Buckaroo and Onesmoothoperator are vying for favouritism. I know its a handicap but these were very ordinary horses on these shores for a race like a Melbourne Cup.
October 30, 2024 at 19:44 #1711235Jamie Stier the Australian who pretty much destroyed the very nature of the Grand National by reducing the distance of the race (amongst other things). All records were then consigned to the history books. Once his work was done he pushed off back to Racing Victoria.
October 31, 2024 at 11:44 #1711256The Victorian officials make great play of the fact that these scans are for safety reasons. So why do these scans only take place for runners in the Cup – or do they in fact scan every horse entered for every race in Victoria.
Because if that isn’t the case, it’s not safety they’re worried about, it’s the public image of their big race.
I wonder what will happen when a horse passed as 100% sound by the vets, finishes the race lame, or worse?
October 31, 2024 at 13:48 #1711262October 31, 2024 at 15:30 #1711271Okay, what happens next? If their scans reveal some sort of damage or at least a higher risk, shouldn’t they become mandatory all over the world?
I mean, are those scans performed before any European Classic and if not, could they become more popular in future?
October 31, 2024 at 19:56 #1711289Makram was ruled out with CT scan in 2022 , two years later hes still going strong and ironically will probably be a decent each way bet in race before Cup .
Way its going my few coins each way at 200s Kinesiology might sneak into field .
Its getting a bit OTT .Interpretation looking iffy now .November 1, 2024 at 03:02 #1711308Onesmoothoperater failed vets needs re check , Interpretation failed vet recheck.
Honestly this is getting to bonkers time ,Racing Vic seem absolutely terrified of own shadow . Craziest situation ive seen for a while . I get feeling they out all runners on vets or potential maybe possible issues and void race they will mark it down at a perfect Melb Cup . Just can it and move on. There be 1000 horses running all over OZ some on dustbowls next week or so. They will have cuts , bruises , shadows all over if CT scanned no doubt and no one gives a stuff , and guess what 99.9 per cent of them will be fine . -
