Did anyone else see Jamie Spencer get interviewed at the start before the 5 O’clock yesterday. I am surprised that nobody picked up on the fact he said (if my hearing is right) GORDONS SAID JUST ENJOY YOURSELF. The horse was Lethal Steps trained by Sneezy Foster (Supposedly)

If I am right then what’s the point banning him for six months when it is only lip service and in truth he is still training them or at least giving riding instructions

Telling Spencer to just enjoy himself would be taken by Jamie as a way of saying do what you always do. Don’t move a muscle and let the horse do all the work.

Exactly…an embarassment…they can’t even be bothered to pretend properly. He lost the chance at Irish NH trainers’ title last season and possibly this (if Willie builds up a healthy enough lead through the summer and hoovers up all the prize money at Galway). And lost the Cheveley Park horses.

Though I often agree with you, have to admit I thought “speak for yourself” reading that one, Nathan.

Anyway, I don’t think there is anything fickle about deploring the conduct of a trainer, but nevertheless continuing to back his runners when feeling they are the best bet in the race.

If you didn’t back any horses on principle when you disapproved of owner, trainer or jockey then that rules you out of backing horses in a lot of races as if you feel the best horse in a race is in your “blacklisted” stable then it doesn’t make sense to bet any other against them either.
