First race at Market Rasen, riding 1/2 favourite. OK, he won. But did he really have to be so casual?
I don’t particularly like seeing experienced jockeys trying to win so cute. 5lb claimers should not even be thinking about it.
I take Chris Dixon’s point that he may have been under instructions not to go for his whip but he could at least have started moving his arms before allowing the second favourite to draw almost level. He was just sitting still.
How difficult is it for jockeys to just ride them out to the line?
