this horse is bred to want around 10 furlongs and has had three runs over 6f, 5f and 5f, getting beaten each time but finishing close up the last twice.
he is entered in handicaps over a mile at newcastle on 05/05/03 and over 9f at kempton the same day.
looks one to be very interested in if the price allows!
April 30, 2003 at 20:11 #84660Looks like it could be one to keep an eye on nv, thanks for that.
May 4, 2003 at 15:54 #84662update : no engagements now on monday, but definitely one to watch for!
May 17, 2003 at 14:42 #84664runs today in the 4:35 at Hamilton…
May 17, 2003 at 16:07 #84666arse, as they say!
the horse was murdered and then ran on to finish fourth with eddie ahern virtually riding side saddle.
to make matters worse, i backed it to beat 3 others in 3 x £2 exactas and 6 x £1 tricasts, with two of these three finishing first and second at 33/1 and 6/1, and me a little more out-of-pocket and pretty p!ssed off all round!
the horse kept on having virtually fallen and will have now gone into just about everyone’s notebook, so we probably won’t get 9/4 again either.
oh, arse!
May 18, 2003 at 22:05 #84668Good luck Tomorrow nv
June 21, 2003 at 22:33 #84670hurrah!
first run after the miserable events at hamilton and the horse bolts up at 3/1 (which seems pretty generous, and more so now!).
unfortunately i didn’t wade in with my life-savings, and this being the end of the month and all that, my investment involved 3 x £1 exactas, 6 x 50p tricasts and a 50p win double from a yankee where Summer Lightning had gone in. (tricasts no good, but got the exacta which paid a decent £55!).
this horse won very easily and might still be backable back on turf next time as this was an AWT performance. he still has a ton of improvement in him and should be better suited by good/good-to-soft going on turf so watch out!
June 22, 2003 at 13:02 #84673
 won very easy last night NV and @ 3/1 thanks from a happy Zz
July 31, 2003 at 18:54 #84676Won again today at Goodwood at 8/1
July 31, 2003 at 19:44 #84679GD,
i had a few quid (literally a few quid, as opposed to the euphemistic few quid which alludes to a decent touch) on the tote this afternoon, and the horse ran really nicely. he seems to be still learning and may yet prove a decent staying type. (hard to imagine that he was sent off at odds-on in a 5 furlong maiden only a few weeks ago!)
i am still slightly smarting after the Hamilton debacle, but i’m getting there and it’s nice that he has developed into the kind of performer i’d hoped he might.
the softer ground seems to suit him well and i would say that he is probably going to prove more competitive on it than he will on fast ground. i wonder whether connections might look to a listed staying event in France some time this autumn?
August 24, 2003 at 20:55 #84682won again this week at york (9/1) off a mark of 86…
September 29, 2003 at 00:43 #84683Won again today at Ascot 4.20 Seabiscuit Stakes @ 8/1
May 26, 2004 at 22:18 #84685I would have sworn that Jagger’s dam was the same as Nebraska Tornado’s, yet when I checked on the RP site the other day, it seemd to be different. Have I simply been having senior moments about the matter? Or was I right originally? Does anyone know whether the breeding data has been changed on the RP site?
June 6, 2004 at 08:14 #84686as far as i was concerned, Sweetness Herself is/was Jagger’s dam, whereas Nebraska Tornado’s dam is Media Nox.
i don’t think this has changed at all, and, given that they were both foaled in 2000, it seems unlikely that they would be out of the same mare…
more to the point, does anyone know where/how Jagger is?
June 7, 2004 at 16:43 #84689Thanks, Non Vintage. It’s what I feared. I was totally muddled.
June 18, 2004 at 22:38 #84690Jagger appears to be alive and well, judging by his entry in the Northumberland Plate which was put forward as his main target for this season by Gerard Butler last year.
Worryingly, Butler has not trained a winner since 7th January though!!!
July 27, 2004 at 22:47 #84691Ran a very solid race today at Goodwood, should be winning soon NV
