Hoiles repeatedly calling Sceau Royal “Footpad” in commentary. :negative:

And what’s with this fashion b******s? It’s bad enough having to endure it at Royal Ascot but Cheltenham?

Absolutely Gladiateur. It’s dismal. Accept it at Ascot but has no place at Cheltenham. All they seem to do is drink and laugh like idiots anyway. Extremely irritating.

Agree about Cumani too. I can tolerate her during flat meetings but totally out of her depth with NH

Hoiles again exposed as average at best.

Lets face it , Francesca Cumani is only there for the eye candy .

I don’t think Sir Anthony McCoy brings anything whatsoever to the party ; if anything he is a nothing but a curmudgeon and dare I say , seems to have a slight chip on his shoulder.

Alice Plunkett and Luke Harvey , for all their faults , should be applauded for their enthusiasm for the sport and good nature , and especially for having to put up with Chapman .

Mick Fitzgerald is the best of a bad bunch .

Gleeson is painful. Brings nothing to the table at all.
    Cumani is dreadful too

    Otherwise decent coverage

    ITV having a great day.
“Girl” jockey wins, blind owner wins…engage “Britain’s got Talent” mode. Bet they wish they’d still been on air after the bumper yesterday and they could have filled the bingo card…. POIGNANT!!!

We have to sell this sport to people who aren’t already hooked. So as much as racing is about the horses we need the human interest stories as well.

If this afternoons action doesn’t get the juices flowing and bring people into this game I don’t know what will.

I know everyone likes to knock the tv coverage whether it is ITV, RUK or SSR but I think Ed Chamberlain et al have done a good job this week.

There will always be quibbles about this presenter or that but totally agree that they are putting together very decent coverage and a very good window to the sport

I prefer Brian Gleeson in the betting ring to Chapman….he generates enthusiasm and excitement and he knows his stuff.
Very interesting decision to demote Chapman to the sideshow of the Social Stable which has always been crap and remains so because his double act with Gleeson really never worked.
I agree that McCoy isn’t adding much and has an attitude problem at times …..quite entertaining to see him and hear him barely containing his disdain for the awful Cumani.

Well Bryony and Andrew Gemmell made the BBC 10 o’clock news in a nice positive story. And the presenter got to use the word “poignant” about Paisley Park’s win so journalistic requirements satisfied. Not sure the Stayers’ result evoked “a keen sense of sadness or regret” in winning connections as per online dictionary definition but hey ho.
Happy racing story on the main news so all well.

If Francesca says “FOR THE NORTH” again when describing Definitley Red then I might cave in my TV.

    Its not Game Of Thrones.

I don’t like the magazine style they try to promote with the TV coverage.
I’ve taken to watching border force between races at Cheltenham.
Why oh why can’t it be a programme dedicated to racing with experts to analyse the horses in the paddock and to discuss the form and betting between races. How I miss the Ch4 now with all its faults.
