In this bizarre, surreal, period in British politics the vote of confidence the government has brought in ITSELF is running in tandem with the Tory Leadership vote.

This is very convenient as it enables the Tory MPs who tabled motions of no confidence in Johnson to be elsewhere – the Tory back benches are looking very empty.
