I think Clive, even the MPs who wanted to support Boris now realise the party would be irrevocably split and for Boris to continue is impossible.

He’s going to find it difficult to fill jobs.

“This is amazing. Boris Johnson is refusing to commit to Bernard Jenkin he won’t dissolve parliament to save himself. This is quite astonishing.”

    Oh please let this happen.

Has politics ever been so entertaining?

It’s like introducing live firearms to chess.

Sounds like the ever hysterical Peston has overplayed that. Why I don’t follow the attention seeker

Good question now is who the Scottish freak and kier would least like to face. Freak always needs hate figures and kier doesn’t do anger and hostility well or have the Churchillian wit to have razor sharp put downs without losing respect (as chuchill did with Attlee and they adored each other)

Javid s speech today was excellent. A pitch of course but he’s talented

Total aside Reading a good American book on post war uk and usa and by god Ernest Bevin was red hot smart and strong. Churchill was in awe of him

I take no satisfaction in Johnson’s imminent demise, considering the candidates for replacing him. Truss? Raab? So many amazing and talented people in England, yet we end up with this shower.
I Johnson was capable of any honesty he might have survived, but his first response to any crisis is to lie about it, and then lie about the lies.

Jeremy Hunt was second favourite to be next Conservative leader a day or two ago, now out to 14/1. With seven at shorter odds.

Starmer came up with some excellent quips at PMQs today.

As stated earlier, I thought Starmer had a better PMQs today, it was a golden opportunity but there were many ways to play it and I thought he played it well.

Andrew Marr on LBC has heard the dissolve Parliament rumours, but dismisses it as “tear down the house stuff” and “not grown-up politics. It would destroy his Party.”

He’s right – but is Johnson a grown-up? And does he ultimately care about his Party?

    Did Starmer have good PMQs?
    Could’ve fooled me.
    Starmer had another open goal.

Soon we will have No Boris or Kier once the police investigation comes through on Beergate.

He only cares about Boris Johnson. They said they would have to drag him out of No 10. I hope he goes soon. I can’t leave the tv and the poor dog needs a walk….
