Ding Dong Ding Dong the bells have been ringing and
Nathan
sent me off for yet another journey down Archive Lane and it turned out to be a cul-de-sac.
The
Midas Touch
could it have been one posted here back in the day of Dave Jay and Darrell etc.
Having scrolled through 36 pages of Castle Systems another 52 pages here were no problem and there were some odd system titles such as
CAMP HUGHES
which made my eyes water at the thought so goodness sake what it did to Mrs. H. I dare not think.
Sadly I did not find any Midas connection but was a tad goggle eyed come about half way.
Well
Nathan
if Midas is out there, somewhere, please did into the jolly old grey matter and offer up some clues.

August 4, 2013 at 16:56 #447656Hi Bill………..Nathan’s quite right, as always….If you Google ‘Midas Method’ there’s plenty of links but whether this is, in fact, the system that you remember remains to be seen.

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
August 4, 2013 at 17:30 #447660Already done the search engines and without any doubt there is little need for me to part with any of my pocket money, From what I read this is not the one.

August 4, 2013 at 17:49 #447661With the intention of asking the membership of the
Punters Lounge
and
OLBG
all has not gone to well.
I have been unable to register with P/L and have now asked for my details to be removed.
OLBG. Well I have got in and my application has been accepted but as a newbie I cannot post.

Over the weekend there has been a tremendous number of hits on this thread totalling 175 (maybe 170 from Nathan and myself) but nevertheless it is good to know members are looking in and reading it, so thank you all for your interest.
I do have some info to report regarding my search and will post again later regarding what has happened.
In the interim there is the important matter of the system picks and must say because the races do not fit what I thought to be my original criteria I am not too thrilled but who knows time may prove me wrong and so for now they have to be checked.

It was good of you to try
Nathan
, I am finding a lot of blind alleyways but will not allow myself to give up, after all it has been too many years of endeavour to waste by doing so.
Castle Sporting Systems did get back to me and sent a system called The Midas System which sadly was not the one but I thank them anyway.
CD Systems also replied with a negative, Steve Jones made a suggestion as to as close he could get but far off from the original I am looking for.

Because it looks very much as if distance is the a problem as I initially thought it to be, I have 5 races under consideration and therefore I am still faced with a culling situation.

August 10, 2013 at 16:17 #448042Without having the all knowing rules everything remains guesswork and so it will now be put back in the drawer and left for another day.
If Racing Ahead, being my final hope, succeed in finding a reader with knowledge about this system it will not see the light of day again for a long while.

August 18, 2013 at 10:18 #448697It turns out that it was too complicated to be bill’s system and required a brain to operate it…..

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
August 19, 2013 at 10:46 #448804Much to the chagrin of
Mr Hughes
I have turned uo an alternative version of the missing handicap system. Having major pc problems I dug out my old lap top which has heaps of old stuff filed away in places I never knew exsisted.
Although I am confident in saying this is not the original version and most likely a past try at re-kindling the same it has provided some interesting selections for today.
A watching brief only just to see if there is any substance within: –
