    “It’s indefensible.”

It defo is if you believe the whole approach to covid was a massive overreaction in terms of lockdowns, restrictions, etc.

But dont anyone forget that govt policy was shaped by the NHS, PHE, Whitty & co, as well as Hancock, Johnson, etc.

Jeez, it’s only last March 2022 that some in the NHS were calling for restrictions because of Omicron. The LD Lords tabled a regret motion that was debated on 17 March 2022, about the government’s removal of laws around self isolation.

Going back to care homes. I know all about peeps being sensible about visiting relatives in care homes when ill. Both my parents spent 2 years in care home, before they passed. We also witnessed the way the elderly are treated by the NHS when it comes to care homes, so it didnt surprise me one jot that the NHS were a big part of the covid ‘care home’ policy that’s been criticised. Prob worth reiterating that Scotland’s (and their govt) record on care homes and covid are just as bad as England’s.

I don’t “believe the whole approach to covid was a massive over reaction in
terms of lockdowns, restrictions etc” In fact they were too slow to introduce
them in the 1st place, which cost lives (IMO)

Hancock assured the PM and others that patients would be tested before being
returned to Care Homes and didn’t keep that pledge. That caused thousands of
    unnecessary deaths.

It doesn’t matter what your political leanings are, how can you defend this
    man ?

I am sorry to hear about your parents, but I think that most of us, or at
least a fair number in here have been through the same trauma.

Saying it’s Ed fault is akin to saying Chernobyl was the fault of the fire fighters fighting the fire on that fateful night …. The Tories have no achievements to defend there actions/record , pointing at Starmer and saying you wanted Cornyn as PM was laughable last week …weeks after the 16 billion failure of Trussanomics …there a joke
