    “lonely humourless smelly billynonmates tosser”

Now who was that at the back of the room who just called out: “That doesn’t narrow it down much.”

We will have less of THAT, thank you!

This is a very cosmopolitan chilled forum – it’s very BBC4!

Fulke Walwyn brings back happy memories of my formative years regarding horse racing. I still think that he is one of the best trainers of chasers that I have ever seen. He seemed to have a never ending supply of old fashioned , big boned chasers. Loved the days of him , Fred Winter , Fred Rimmel. Perhaps looking back through rose tinted contact lenses though.

    Coggy,

That’s Fred Rimell – Rimmel is the brand name of a ladies make up company!

    “Time moves on, memories fade.”

It does but that is no reason to not preserve our heritage. Racing has the longest and richest history of any sport. I like to see someone such as Fred Archer remembered. He was a phenomenon and it would be sad to see him forgotten.

There are so many examples of this is racing and in life.

I cannot think of a more famous Flat trainer in Europe than Aidan O’Brien, but I have lost count of the number of times I see his first name spelt “Aiden” with an E.
