Entries………………
I seen the entries earlier, but the link down now, still the Hills and 888 list looks about right
As usual, it’s a high quality entry, and far too many appealing to me right now.
My long term hope is Kilcruit, and he’ll be the main bet. I’ve bet him for Topham as well, but really want him to head here. I’ll see if I can beat the current 25’s.
As I said though, plenty of others……
Another Choice – 33’s, but no back number on his run in The Porterstown, and I’d be in no rush to write him off. Looks as if he’s been kept for this
Any Second Now – Runner up last year, and though surprised to see him back out this year, his comeback run saw him more forward than he usually is. Although he’ll be verging on a sentimental selection, I will bet him, and it’ll be another Antepost, as he will get bet in. Just can’t see him going off near 25’s
Aworkinprogress – Going the right way, and on a proper roll. Definitely one I’ll be keeping an eye on next year, but just has to be a chance he doesn’t get in here.
Bioluminescence – Interesting type for Cromwell here, and has a very nice looking mark to take advantage of. The main worry for me is that she could take in a Mares Race, but other than that, I like her a lot
Brandt – Recent winner of The Dublin National. Another who might struggle to get in here, but I liked the ride he was given that day, and he’s got a bit up his cuff I reckon. Good jumper, and think the way this race is run would suit him. He’s one I’m looking forward to following, but maybe one for next year.
Duffle Coat – Altgough I bet him for Aintree, I said at the time that Fairyhouse looked more realistic. Definite chance, and 33’s is fair
Jonnywho – No real surprise to see him entered here, and always looked his next target. Suspect he’s way ahead of his mark, though I did think that even with last fence mistake at Cheltenham, he was beaten fair and square. Only a matter of time before he lands a nice pot
Mousey Brown – Really likeable type who knows how to win, and ran a nice race last time. Yards won this twice before, and as I’m betting him tomorrow, I’ll have to bet him here too.
O’Toole – Loved this horse a couple of years back, and after a long layoff, returned to the winners enclosure first time out. Lightly raced, and completely unexposed. Very interesting outsider
Val Dancer – Welsh National winner, with the promise of more to come. I’m not concerned about his defeat last time, and I’d give him a squeak here, though I’d prefer to see him head to Ayr
Could be three, four handed with a couple of those above included.
Kilcruit my main hope, but waiting to see if I can beat 25’s (unlikely), and I’ll certainly have to cover Any Second Now, but with him running tomorrow, Mousey Brown. Risky approach, as if he gets stuffed tomorrow, that’s two bets down, but hands tied a bit
Kilcruit 65’s
Mousey Brown 66’s EWMarch 23, 2025 at 10:32 #1724668I’ve bet Duffle Coat VtC, I just think that 33-1 is a good price, and I do think that he’ll come here over Aintree.
I liked his run at Cheltenham off of top weight, and the other horse who caught my attention in that race was Klarc Kent. He is 50-1 at the moment, and I will bet him too, once other firms get involved
March 23, 2025 at 11:54 #1724673All Jeff, I’ve also done Duffle Coat in this. Managed to get 50s with Unibet when they were the only bookie pricing the race up. I’ve also got him for our national at 117-1 NRNB with boost, but not sure if he’ll get in. Thought he ran a good race at Cheltenham when brought down, still had half a chance I thought.
March 26, 2025 at 22:06 #1724896I thought that Impaire et passe was a very interesting contender here, but my eye is drawn towards High Class Hero most right now. I haven’t had a bet yet, but I think that we’ve not seen the best of him yet
I thought that Velvet Elvis looked a very big price too, but it’s maybe just wise to wait
April 5, 2025 at 17:41 #1726310Perceval Legallois @ 25’s
Bit of a longshot but seemed to be unscathed from the fall at the 8th fence today. Just over 2 weeks till this so why not have another bite at the cherry.
April 5, 2025 at 20:50 #1726378Quai de Bourbon is my first bet here at 25s. Got an entry at Ayr too but that’s probably a bit soon after the travel and unseat yesterday.
April 7, 2025 at 14:24 #1726572I’m with Percival Legallois at 25-1 as my early bet
April 7, 2025 at 23:09 #1726617Added Any Second Now. He’ll surely go here, and must be a good chance he’ll be a lot shorter, even if he is a 13yo now
Already got one non runner here, and I’ve a feeling that Kilcruit will go to Sandown, so already a bit messy for me. Mousey Brown was just a small interest, but I’ve already had a good swing at Kilcruit, and I fear the worst
Duffle Coat still of interest, but I’ll wait and see
Any Second Now 25’s EW5Pls
Kilcruit 65’sApril 9, 2025 at 13:50 #1726764I’ve had an early bet on Busselton at 50/1
April 9, 2025 at 21:57 #1726804Had a look. A couple that need a few dozen to come out but could be on a nice mark if that happens.
KINTURK KALANISI
Trainer knows what it’s all about and no surprise if this has been the plan. Very unexposed and if the weather keeps up he should be happy on the bouncy ground.SPANISH HARLEM
Who the hell knows with WPM’s long list? This one is a rare maiden for the yard but bit of an eye catcher last time. Sixth in Scottish national as a 6yo last year, and seem to recall there was plenty expected of him in a handicap hurdle at Cheltenham a couple of years ago (Martin Pipe or County Hurdle, can’t remember which).April 13, 2025 at 22:02 #1727215Another couple of ews
Sa Majeste 25s
Thought he ran very well in the Kim Muir and still on a good markHarry des Ongrais 50s
One of only two I think for HdB. I really like this horse, not 100% sure about the trip and I suppose he could go elsewhere, but I really don’t want to miss him wherever he runs.April 14, 2025 at 00:56 #1727231Not committed yet, but fancy Intense Raffles, Desertmore House and Panda Boy but it really depends on what is still there closer to the date and how they fair.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
