Its Coolmores horses to do as they see fit but i must admit iam not enjoying seeing a Derby winner rammed around as a pacemaker . I didnt like seeing Continuous used as one either .At least he appears to have a spot back in Japan at stud .
Poor old Action gets rammed out the gate race after race , hes s lovely looking horse .
They seem to have found a few stallions this year though , plenty of black type for their mares and be plenty sold on as usual so the business does tick over .
On the winner , stipes must have had look at him rolling onto those on rails . Looked dicey .A pity JOB didn’t pitch in Thundering On here. Really fancied her for it but they went for the Blandford. Given the ICS result she might have gone very close. Item and Almaqam were feeling the effects of that tough York battle I think- there is only a 24 day interval between races which isn’t enough after a big G1 effort.
I agree with the pacemaker comments about Lambourn- we’ll probably see the likes of Xmas Day and Pierre Bonnard doing the job for Darkness Falls next year- or they’ll keep poor old Hawk Mountain and Montreal in training to do it
