Sorry green, how come I didn’t remember your post. Well done, I guess 50/1 is just about your price.

Thanks all and Ruby you put him up first, great stuff :-). I only escaped from house tidying and farm paperwork with my sister 5 minutes before the race having missed the rest of the day including Saffie’s big win, and I was so annoyed at missing all the racing to do horrible housework that I had a bit more on than my usual pennies, so am delighted.

Also laughing up my sleeve at Coolmore’s team tactics coming unstuck again, agree with everything said already on this thread, pathetic that a Derby winner is getting booted and battered along to shine the boots of Constitution Plodder who has failed, again, to win despite being carried on the backs of his servants. How embarrassing.

Hard to believe the winner of last year’s Derby was being a pacemaker going off like he was in the Nunthorpe.

Aidan hitting turbo again on the excuses as to why his stallion prospect got beaten:

“There’s no doubt he’s a quick horse and all his fractions and times is quicker than any horse. A horse with that speed, we might have made it too much of a test and that’s what we’d be thinking.”

Tell us again how your racehorse got beaten because it was the fastest horse in the race.
Or you could, just , you know, tip your hat to the gritty attitude of the winning horse much as it would kill you to praise a horse that isn’t by a Coolmore stallion.

I think they are getting beat because he is overthinking these “team tactics” to the detriment of his horses, I suspect he is obsessed by them and probably wastes hours on them.

I don’t know whether Aidan is a happy man, despite being (probably) the most successful trainer in the history of Horse Racing (at least if you go by the numbers) or if he wishes to be less prominent, even with a lesser degree of success.

He is a genius, no doubt about that, but after all he is just a servant to the Lads, imo. Finding the right races, discussing and applying team tactics, telling the whole world how good every single stallion prospect is results in too much pressure for him. He just sounds like a scratch record with no own personality.

Would Magnier, Tabor, Smith etc ever appear in front of the cameras to tell the exact same stories to the Racing public? I don’t think so….

He was hiding behind the sunglasses again , I’m sure he doesn’t get the same fulfilment as say Mullins , so similar in many ways apart from one is a self made man , the other is an employee

I noticed that Pierre Bonnard’s form figures show his seventh in the Derby in the RP. After the Epsom fiasco they weren’t actually showing it as he was an apparent non runner.

I wonder if Christmas Day will be acting as a pacemaker for Darkness Falls next season.

It was lucky they picked up one of the weakest Eclipse’s you’ll ever see because this Constitution River has been well found out as bang average in open company
