Hi All,
I will be restarting my pro-gambling career on the 1st May after a five year lay-off, this has been dictated due to my dwindling bank account and complete boredom …. I miss my old way of life.
I looked around for a forum and found this one so I will ry and contribute as much as I can.
I would love to hear from other people who gamble full time so if that’s you please feel free to contact me.
April 29, 2009 at 21:33 #224367Everyone will be very sceptical Caledon but welcome.
Will give you the benefit of the doubt for now.
Got a couple of questions.
Can I ask, is your dwindling bank account not trying to tell you something?
And,
How do you gamble? No good asking for other peoples ideas without giving us your own.
Mark

A pro punter with a dwindling bank account?. Remind me not to listen to a word you say

Good luck with it, it’s a tough old game and welcome to the forum

There’s some smooth hitters on the exchanges these days, some probably members here reading this and rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of taking you on, and they’ll wipe you out before you know it; unless of course you have a fool-proof system which you might wish to share with us.
Have you been bored with work or living in the lap of luxury?April 29, 2009 at 22:44 #224382Ginge & Fist
Caledon wrote that he is going to resume his professional gambling , after a break of 5 years.
That means that he hasn’t been gambling, (doesn’t it?
) but instead has been living the Life Of Riley. Hence the dwindling bank account, because people can’t live on fresh air.I hope you ain’t going to ignore us non-professionals Caledon – we’re more fun.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the welcome…. but
Sceptical about what?
I don’t have a system to sell, I don’t offer tips and I certainly wont be giving off the cuff advice to all and sundry.
So I don’t see what there is to be sceptical or indeed give me the benefit of the doubt on. Or is it that you are saying that what I do can’t be done?
As for your comment on my dwindling bank account, with no income for 5 years I guess yours would to! I have used my winnings to a point where they must be replenished… hence the return to old ways.

Hi Gerald,
Glad to see you actually read what I said instead of jumping straight down my throat… I have had better welcomes from some bookmakers I have fleeced than what I have read so far:)
As for ignoring the people who are not doing this for a living…. I wouldn’t be so rude. We all have to start somehwere and if I can help I will.

Have you been bored with work or living in the lap of luxury?Hi Ken,
I have spent the last 3 months re-checking data and running results against my methodology and everything remains status quo. I do not use betting exchanges except on rare occassions and I doubt very much that anyone would welcome me as a target.
I use a method that I have developed myself. I don’t use ratings/form/tipsters [waste of earth space].
I have just been enjoying life really but I need to start earning money again… not exactly the lap of luxury, but comfortable.April 29, 2009 at 23:27 #224400Why am I having a quiet chuckle to myself? Is it that something just doesn’t feel right? Is it Gingertipster’s sceptism or Caledon’s boldness?
Personally, I can’t understand why Caledon is waiting for 1st May when he has the likes of Ascot, Punchestown, Sandown to hit the boards flying.
It’s a bit like me vowing to change my ways on 1st January, every new year.
To avoid the sceptics Caledon, might have been better to restart your career, get the business up and running, declare your earnings to the taxman and then come and share your secret formula with us.
Ken
p.s. Just to think, whilst you’ve been away a racecourse has come and gone so if you see Great Leighs in the formlines you’ll know what it’s referring to.April 29, 2009 at 23:32 #224401Very intresting, I’m intrigued.
How much would a pro-punter start of with in the ‘bank’ about??
I’m not really much of a gambler, you say you don’t go by ‘ratings/form/tipsters’, there the only things I do go on lol, and ground conditions, what else is there to go on??
Thanks

Hi,
As far as a starting bank goes you could write a book with all the theories banded about but for me it would have to be based on what your method produces as a strike rate and then a % stake based on that. This to me is the only logical way.
What else is there to go on…. race type, no. of runners, month of the year… jockeys birthday… there are thousands of other criteria you could use. As I said in a previous post I developed the method I use personally and all I will say is that I didn’t approach the task from the usual perspectives and I used my knowledge of mathematics a lot.April 29, 2009 at 23:45 #224406Caledon,
Ding Dong! I hear a bell ringing, Were you here a couple of months back posing as a fresh-faced young new gambler from Liverpool?April 29, 2009 at 23:50 #224407I would have thought that a mathematical approach is best utilised as a better/layer on the exchanges, but you seem not to favour them. Strange?
Because if you just use the bookies then your decimal point will always be in the wrong column.April 29, 2009 at 23:50 #224408Caledon,

Ding Dong! I hear a bell ringing, Were you here a couple of months back posing as a fresh-faced young new gambler from Liverpool?Hi,
Do you guys treat all new forum members the same way. All I did was make a quick post and have been berated by most. I state again….
I have no system to sell
I have no website I want you all to rush too
I am not a tipsterI was looking for like minded people bu I guess that I looked in the wrong place!
If you are not interested in discussing things amicably then why don’t you just ignore any posts I make. Seems futile to just bemoan and begrudge the fact that I wanted to share experiences with some people.April 29, 2009 at 23:58 #224415I would have thought that a mathematical approach is best utilised as a better/layer on the exchanges, but you seem not to favour them. Well seems like I should throw it all away and rush to the exchanges where I will find what… oh yes bookies. Please don’t suppose to know how I do things and I would reckon that my decimal point will be just fine thanks.
April 30, 2009 at 00:04 #224419Good point, Caledonan. It’s not your fault we’re sceptical. You’re not the first and sadly won’t be the last newby we’re suspicious of, mainly because it’s the safe option. Really, we’re all a sensitive bunch and we try to protect ourselves by being taken for a ride by con-artists by being suspicious and sceptical.
