The listed International Trial Stakes is for 3yo’s and takes place over a mile at Lingfield on Saturday. It’s probably not the most competitive race on the card, but it has some interesting entries, and it is the highest class flat race of the day. It will also keep me interested while some other race is going on up north.

Both Clive Brittain & Brian Meehan have won this twice in recent years. They both have entries in the race this year, Sharp Nephew is the best of them on paper. The standard is set by Scintitillo, trained by R.Hannon, who won a G1 on his final start last year. Add to that a couple of solid AW performers in Traphalgar and Geezers Colours. Then there’s the very interesting Orientalist Art, who has run well in a couple of maidens (he won the second one over 7f at Lingfield in a very good time, 1.5s faster than Paco Boy recorded when he won listed Spring Cup a few weeks back, which makes him quite fast!)

    Any ideas?

On the AWT? Not really interested if that’s the case.
