Bay Bridge at 33s.
He’s simply too good a horse to be that long a price. I suspect that he’s a doubtful runner, but with showers forecast in the area he may line up and he certainly won’t be anywhere near those odds if he does.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 20, 2023 at 14:06 #1660236To be fair to Darren Anderton including international and subs appearances he made just over 500
To be fair to Desert Crown he has won more major honoursCharles Darwin to conquer the World
August 20, 2023 at 15:43 #1660256Agree Bay Bridge too big but I think he would need more juice than he is likely to get – currently the ground is good with at the moment no rain forecast until toward the end of the week. Although if you go back to his 2022 Brigadier Gerard trouncing of Mostahdaf on good ground, a repeat of that makes that price look even more silly.
Mostahdaf I think would be a bigger threat if it was more good to firm ground although I do think his hike to 128 was an overreaction considering the form of the POW doesn’t bear close secrutiny at all but I have to say the intriguing runner for me is Nashwa….hoping Pont Lonsdale will make it a true test and give her a chance to settle as she does have a potent turn of foot and I don’t think she was seen to best effect coming from the back in a relatively slowly run Nassau Stakes.
Desert Crown……..well him missing the race through injury was one of the biggest certainties we will see all year….sadly from what Bruce Raymond has reported it doesn’t sound like a minor thing and I think retirement beckons……….real tough luck and not a ringing endorsment for keeping a Derby winner in training either, especially considering that it really didn’t work out for Adayar either.
August 20, 2023 at 15:53 #1660258They only did it because neither horse won the 2,000 Guineas and they were desperate to win a 1m2f Group 1 with them.
Adayar may end up a Jumps sire.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 21, 2023 at 12:04 #1660325Only four declared. Bitterly disappointing.
August 21, 2023 at 12:16 #1660326Paddington looks to be having another lack of pace 10f race.

August 21, 2023 at 12:27 #1660327Over £500,000 to the winner and four show up.
Coming up next: owners whinge about prize money.
August 21, 2023 at 17:41 #1660349It really is pitiful and being called a select field, really.
The more I know the less I understand.
August 21, 2023 at 17:54 #1660353It could very well turn into a tactical 4F burn up and I am not 100% sure that will suit Paddington so ordinarily I could see Ryan trying to dictate like he did at Goodwood but that might depend on how well Hollie can get Nashwa to settle (as she can be keen early on) and they did made a lot of use of her in the French Oaks and Prix de l’Opera last season.
August 21, 2023 at 18:13 #1660357I’m less disappointed than some.
We live in an era where, for all their faults, most trainers understand form better than ever.
Paddington is lethally reliable and Mostahdaf ran a one-off stellar race at Royal Ascot.
What chance have you got of beating both (and the place money is still less than for alternative engagements).
I’m still looking forward to this race.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"August 21, 2023 at 18:13 #1660358Only five turned up for the Sussex so I suspect Ryan will dictate again to stop it being a tactical affair.
The more I know the less I understand.
August 21, 2023 at 18:18 #1660359Yes Paddington will make the running but he won’t be setting any records. I’d like to have seen a proper test of stamina for him over the 10f
Maybe he’ll get that in the Champion stakes if he doesn’t revert back to a mile after getting chinned by MostadafCharles Darwin to conquer the World
August 21, 2023 at 20:30 #1660369Could be an upset if a muddling pace. Such a disappointing field. So frustrating.
August 21, 2023 at 20:53 #1660371£53k for finishing 4th – everyone gets a very good payday.
These type of field sizes seem par for the course now…..mores the pity.
August 21, 2023 at 21:48 #1660378Will be even more LD, as they will share the fifth and sixth prize money!
August 21, 2023 at 22:00 #1660382This division looked very interesting at the start of the season
But vadeni, bay bridge and luxembourg have mainly flopped
Desert crown is never fit and adayar has been retired
So not to surprising such a small field
