He appears to be doing so now. The issue is his failure to do a good job of it in the past.

think a lot of people have sensed that the horse hasnt been right for some time, but why all the excuses up to now?

This is tiresome stuff in what is supposed to be top class racing.

Compliance doubt for Cheltenham  <br> <br>In Compliance is rated highly by trainer O’Brien <br>Leading Gold Cup contender In Compliance has been ruled out of Saturday’s Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse. <br>And trainer Michael O’Brien has hinted the seven-year-old, who is yet to run in 2007, is a doubt for Cheltenham.

In Compliance, as low as 7-1 for the Gold Cup on 16 March, beat reigning champion War Of Attrition on his last start at Punchestown.

But County Kildare trainer Michael O’Brien said he is not 100 per cent happy with his stable star.

"He just doesn’t seem to be performing at the moment. He’s quite dull in himself and there just doesn’t seem to be any life in him," said O’Brien.

"For some reason, he’s just not performing. <br> <br>"We don’t have any clues at the moment. We have put him back on the easy list and he is just doing one canter a day and we’ll just play it by ear and see how he is over the next 10 days.

"If he doesn’t come round he won’t be going anywhere."

The Fairyhouse race attracted 15 entries, including the ante-post Grand National favourites Numbersixvalverde and Dun Doire.

Numbersixvalverde, trained by Martin Brassil, will be having his first run over fences since winning last year’s Aintree marathon.

Possible rivals at Fairyhouse include other potential Grand National challengers in the shape of Point Barrow and Garvivonnian.
