Did anyone see Basle & David Probert come to grief at Newmarket yesterday? I heard there was trouble in the stalls & I saw Probert roll backwards out of them & in some pain, but I didn’t know what had happened until this morning.
My question really is that the report said the filly flipped over in the stalls. Is that a freak accident or does it happen often?

No it’s a rare occurance thankfully.
However, did anyone see an incident on Lingfields AW track starting stalls, when
a jockey was kicked and the jockey In terrible pain was hobbling around
and threw his hat to the floor? It happened a couple of weeks ago.Was it Martin Dwyer? Not sure?

Adoptive father of two. The patron saint of lower-grade fare. A gently critical friend of point-to-pointing. Kindness is a political act.

I didn’t see that one. I thought you might have meant the Lincoln trial at Wolves. Collateral Damage I think it was & he gave the jockey a close up view of the top of the stalls for good measure.

Yeah I thought I’d got it right, it was horrible to watch, clearly
the boozed up racegoers didn’t realise the extent as they started
wolf whistling and laughing when he threw his hat to the floor, hopping
around. It’s a cruel game. -
