Dubai Quest won’t be 25/1 for this contest if he wins at Wetherby tomorrow.
His Chaddesley Corbett Point form looks strong – he beat Tango De Juilley (who had previously impressed at Ffos Las) and the third Red Indian won at Alnwick on Sunday.
Dubai Quest is a 9yo, but will only be having his 12th race tomorrow.
Law Of Gold looks a danger at Wetherby but, though the yard had an impressive winner with How To Get Away at Horseheath last Saturday, their horses usually need the run.

February 5, 2022 at 19:07 #1581567Dubai Quest now 16/1 best (and as low as 10/1) after hosing up at Wetherby.
I took 25/1 about him for Cheltenham last night and my bet on him at 6/4 today has more than paid for that.

March 18, 2022 at 16:21 #1588565Ah sickened for David Christie, his horse jumped brilliantly and I really wanted him to win.
March 18, 2022 at 16:22 #1588567Wow! You have got to applaud Mullins for a never say die ride. The horse never travelled, jumped poorly but he never gave in.
March 18, 2022 at 16:29 #1588572Reminded me a bit of when Champ came from miles back.
March 18, 2022 at 17:01 #1588602Wouldnt bet on it in a million years but was a cracking race. Fair play to Patrick Mullins I dont think any other jockey in that race would have won on Billaway
March 18, 2022 at 17:05 #1588606Or may be he a lot of jockeys would’ve had him in a better position and won easier, TTC?

Seemed to me he was on much the best horse.
Another jockey may have got him jumping and travelling much better. On the other hand perhaps not.
Value Is EverythingMarch 18, 2022 at 17:09 #1588624He needed wings the second didnee ? I was wondering if hitting him before the last was such a good idea. I was thinking he would win quite easily without the whip + but maybe the jockey was right. He didn’t have so much momentum when he jumped the last. His tank soon went a bit low and yes at the end it was curtains. A terrific ride on the winner. It is deceptive Cheltenham you never can be sure. Even if he had had wing mirrors – he’d have been taken.

March 18, 2022 at 23:11 #1588814Strange comment ginger
Billaway is a very lazy bugger and runs like that every time
Mullins did very well to keep bothering
(And I backed the 2nd)
Hes an absolute rogue that horse
March 19, 2022 at 06:39 #1588841I was counting my winnings and then I wasn’t!
I remain convinced that the winning line was moved up the hill by ten yards for this race. All jokimg aside what an effort by Patrick to get the winner home.
March 19, 2022 at 06:50 #1588843All joking aside he also got reprimanded for his whip use which is unfortunate as its hard to argue he did a good job as I previously did when he basically flouted the rules, especially as the 2nd looked the best horse in the race just ran out of steam and perhaps Barry O’Neill went a bit early.
March 19, 2022 at 08:29 #1588859Mullins was undoubtedly helped by the winner getting a bit lonely and coming to the end of his tether.
It was a tenacious ride and he did really well to win. However, riding performance of the week was undoubtedly Danny Mullins on Flooring Porter in the Stayers. Less dramatic but it was superb.
As for Mullins getting a whip ban – I sympathise with him a little. What was he supposed to do? His mount was responding and he could see he was reeling in the leader. Was he ever really going to put his whip down? It is just not realistic to expect jockeys to be counting when the adrenalin is pumping.
In these circumstances, the whip rules are a bit of a joke. Mullins has made no secret of the fact he wanted to win a Hunter Chase. Taking a few days suspension is a price he was always going to be willing to pay.
March 19, 2022 at 09:59 #1588874I filmed the finish with my rubbish phone if anyones interested
