February 18, 2013 at 19:11 #429993Sad to see so many listed, but very few look to be the result of race course accidents. Some have never seen the race course and there are a couple of older Enda Bolger horses (including Heads OnThe Ground). Get the impression that the lists don’t represent real time but depend on when the trainer informs HRI.
February 21, 2013 at 09:18 #430139Staying Article was such a good horse. Only ran a very few races for his age, which makes me think he was probably not too sound for the game and he’s paid the price for having being "persevered" with. jmo.
RIP all of the above horses. Does anybody know if the horses that go to slaughter also get put on this list in Ireland? As somebody stated above, it’s a very long list to say there’s been hardly any racing.
February 21, 2013 at 20:16 #430169Don’t know but there are two on the list from the same owner, which makes me wonder, either that or they have been very unlucky.
February 23, 2013 at 01:02 #430267I suppose that some are unlucky and have accidents at home, others we just don’t know it can be a very grey area. I remember visiting a yard in Newmarket many years back for an open day and sloping off round to the back stables we saw quite a few young horses with no names on their boxes, some did not look quite right and dread to think what happened to them..
RIP all those horses on that long list who never made it
