‘MTOY’ just doesn’t get up the hill but at least he’s ran his race and sadly ‘Our Conors’ fall has marred it. Worthy winner, well done ‘Jezki’ loyals.
March 11, 2014 at 15:34 #470879Great race but tragic for Our Connor. The New One desperately unlucky. So close to glory Gord but your judgement spot on again.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
March 11, 2014 at 15:42 #470883Gord: we had quite a few discussions about Jezki last year and McCoy very nearly chose him! Got him at 12s and also at 10s and 8s in doubles with Bobs Worth at 3s and Silviniaco Conti at 5s gonna have to cover the bets with a win on the Lieutenant now!!

Yes your horse was over-priced today Gary,I’m glad you stayed loyal to a battler,I always thought he would be placed 3rd personally.Well done mate.I’ll get there yet with ‘MTOY’ in the Arkle next year at 20/1!!
March 11, 2014 at 15:57 #470892Onwards and upwards, today typifies what I harp on about the ups and downs of Horseracing.Again ‘MTOY’ frustrates but AP was out ridden by Barry, trouble is when yo get that close it hurts but at least he lives to fight another day unlike ‘Our Conor’.Tough game this but they dont get any tougher than me.No I’m not laying
Quevega
even though her bubble will burst.
My next wager has to beShutthefrontdoor
and defeat is out of the question, this horse is a Gold Cup horse mark my words!
Shutthefrontdoor
£300 win 10/30 Bet 365.

Not "great" Joni.
Value Is EverythingMarch 11, 2014 at 16:54 #470906What a ride and what a performance from a horse who jumped stickily.
Well done Gord. I backed Holywell as well and had my heart in my mouth a few times. Luckily, after each mistake he seemed to be travelling well again fairly quickly. I backed Valtour, Champagne Fever and MTOY today, so not a bad start. Have done Art Of Logistics in the last but not really a strong fancy.
All the best with your quest!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 11, 2014 at 16:57 #470907Yes Steve thats the difference between a horse who travels and makes mistakes (Holywell) and a horse who doesn’t travel and makes mistakes (Shutthefrontdoor).Dissapointing performance from the latter there and a dint in a good day!
March 11, 2014 at 17:02 #470910Final bet of the day goes on a horse who has actually beaten ‘MTOY’! albeit a bumper 2 yrs ago but
Up to Something
is a horse I have watched protect his handicap mark recently and at 40/1 is worth a little e/w interest.
Up to Something
£50 e/w 40/1 Betfred.

March 11, 2014 at 17:06 #470912Had £15 EW Midnight Prayer at 16s and had him and STFD as last leg in PPot – I love the festival

20/1 for MTOY to win the Arkle is nearing on bet of the century stuff. You’d imagine Jezki will try to retain the crown so JP must send him chasing. I can’t think of any I’d be worried about, other than Annie Power but she could run in about 1 of 10 races next year!

20/1 is big alright but looking at the Supreme I can see one that I’d be very worried out!
March 11, 2014 at 18:36 #470929Will he go chasing? Surely the fly is past his best now, I suppose a lot will depend on how good Un De Sceaux is.
March 11, 2014 at 20:58 #470974Reflections of Day 1 saw 2 Winners a 2nd a 3rd and a 0 with
Shutthefrontdoor
costing me dearly. My plan was to reach £2.5k today with possibly a bit of a cushion to play with and I have to say Jonjo’s 4miler was my banker.Had I stood by my conviction to Lay the ‘Hurricane’ I would have been closer to my target but I could easily have gone in again on ‘MTOY’ and lost,I didn’t need to put that fellow up at 7/2 as I’d backed him elsewhere heavily.Tomorrows another day and I rate 2 horses highly in the ‘Neptune’,’Red Sherlock’ and
Lieutenant Colonel
,at tomorrows prices I favour the later even though I’ve backed both at double their current odds.
I have stated elsewhere that if ‘Vautour’ delivered today then ‘Lieutenant colonel’ will get hammered for this.Lieutenant Colonel

That’s the one
Well done today!
March 11, 2014 at 21:37 #470994I love the RSA nearly as much as I love the ‘Supreme’ and my record is very much on a par with each other. The ground is Good and these Irish invaders are used to plenty cut so the formbook wont help us tomorrow,I’m not getting the ‘Vautour’ vibe about ‘Ballycasey’ but I wouldn’t lay him that goes to ‘Smad Place’ I just dont fancy him at all.I’m a big fan of ‘Kings Theatre’ he was my Derby horse of 94 and he’s a big brute of a stallion,he has thrown a son very similar to himself in
Carlingford Lough
who interestingly is related to the National half brothers ‘The Tother One’ and ‘Thisthatandtother’ so this fellow will stay every yard on ground that will suit.I cant have ‘Morning Assembly’ but my big danger is
Dom Cossack
,I’ve got a sneaky feeling he’ll enjoy this.
