First three winners at Ponty today, the guy’s good I’ll give him that.
You beat me to it, was just gonna say the same thing
Gotta be close in the betting now. 5/6 each of two
July 6, 2010 at 14:39 #305023Richard Hughes put it well last night when he said Ryan’s not even warmed up yet – plenty more winners to come for him.

Agree, but there’s a saying in football that you’d rather have the points in the bag than have the games in hand. I’m sure Hanagan is more than happy to get the wins under his belt whilst Ryan ‘bides’ his time.
And what’s to say there aren’t plenty of winners to come from Hanagan himself?
Does Ryan really want the title? I’m certain Hanagan will be going absolutely flat out for it. Not sure I can say the same about Ryan. Could be wrong though.
July 6, 2010 at 14:56 #305031Paul Hanagan, jockey of the north, lot of time for him! Comes across as a nice guy to boot, he has another strong book of rides, day and night, no one can fault the mans determination and commitment to the cause!

Yeah I’ve gotta feeling he’s gonna build a huge lead which will be difficult to get back.
July 6, 2010 at 15:18 #305042Top notcher, one of the few in the game who seems to want to win all of the time. Sadly from a punting point of view I think this was the week he went mainstream, amazing it took so long really.
July 6, 2010 at 20:11 #305096Top man once again tonight.
Seriously
Best Jockey in England by far in terms of improvement as i said when i posted this thread.
Ryan Moore and Hanaghan are well clear of the rest.
I like Hughsie too it must be said
July 6, 2010 at 21:52 #305113is this the same hanagan thats yet to ride in a classic, let alone win one?
And the same ryan moore that before this season didn’t ride a classic winner?
i forget the name of the horse he thought would beat conduit in the ledger…………..
jockeys these days aren’t as good as back when cauthen/piggott/swinburn/carson/eddery/
granted carson started late, but the rest were top class before they were 18
July 6, 2010 at 22:10 #305115I’m really pleased to see Hanagan doing so weel, at least he has some charm and charisma which Ryan Moore will never have.

Ryan Moore has something much more engaging than ten-a-penny charm.
He is spare in speech but astute in judgement, interesting and insightful whenever he does see fit to open his mouth, impossible not to be drawn to in the saddle – just like Fallon or Piggott before him.
I don’t know whether he has anything you might call "charisma", but he certainly has the enigmatic star quality of a Garbo or Setsuko Hara, which is much, much rarer.
July 7, 2010 at 19:22 #305300The Boy Hanaghan another winner today.
How far ahead is he in the championship?

How far ahead is he in the championship?
He had a double actually mate at Catterick, 13 ahead I think, best priced EVS to win the championship.
July 7, 2010 at 20:27 #30531313….Thats a good lead
July 7, 2010 at 20:31 #305314Is he riding 2moro?
Dont see him anywhere
July 7, 2010 at 20:55 #305320not sure if he’s riding tomorrow, threw my racing post away in disgust
after a shocking day todayJuly 8, 2010 at 01:50 #305360It’s a good lead but not a great lead.
July 9, 2010 at 13:23 #305624Hanagan has just booted home the first winner at York, this being his 13th winner since last Friday and his 21st winner in the last 12 days.
I’ve never known anyone rattle up so many winners in such a short space of time, not in recent years anyway. Incredible.
I can’t remember backing any of his winners, but that’s besides the point
