The Horsemen’s Group has announced it will be adding £5,000 to the prize fund of 100 races between the start of the turf season and the end of the year.

The races will be announced in due course but all will be staged at courses which have achieved so-called HG Partner Status.

Having enquired, I’m advised by the ROA that these races will be spread across all classes of race.

An extra £5,000 to the prize fund may not sound very much but when you consider this will treble the fund for a class 6 race and more than double it for a class 5 race, it will be a particularly welcome addition at the lowest level.

With any luck this will give those courses yet to achieve Partner Status an incentive to do so.

The bonus races through to the end of June have now been published here:

    http://www.racehorseowners.net/en/about-us/benefits-of-membership/horsemens-group-bonus-races/bonus-races-for-2012.cfm

The races look to have been spread widely so there should be something for everyone.
