I’m not sure if you guys already know about this, and if so feel free to delete, but there’s a petition on the Downing Street website about the BBC’s future lack of horse racing coverage.
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/bbcracing/
I thought that maybe some of you guys might like to sign it.
January 8, 2009 at 00:36 #202375Done.
If William Haggis and Kim Bailey can make the time and effort then i am bloody sure i can
January 8, 2009 at 00:50 #202379I also noticed Charles Egerton, Jeremy Noseda, Peter Walwyn, and Bruce Raymond, on the list.
January 8, 2009 at 01:24 #202390glad to see it is starting to grow – it was a bit depressing when I was the 28th person to sign it – now it is up to over 500, not bad for a few days.
January 8, 2009 at 01:30 #202391Neil Callan and Georgie Baker signed it…so I did too.
I likes the racing on the box I do.
January 8, 2009 at 01:37 #202396Sadly us Paddies aren’t allowed to sign!
January 8, 2009 at 01:53 #202399Added, 557 and counting. I knew there’d be a revolution

I’ve signed it, though I worry about the creator’s arithmetic.
January 8, 2009 at 04:05 #202440So long as James Sherwoods name doesn"t appear on it, there"s hope!

The only way his name would appear on the list is if the petiton read.
Petition to get rid of that obnoxious,up his own a-rse upper class ponce from the BBCs coverage of Royal Ascot so Racing can take priority instead.
January 8, 2009 at 04:43 #202451Signed.

January 8, 2009 at 05:44 #202463Come on all you U.K. TRF non-posting observers. Yes, I’m talking to YOU.
It’s great to have you on board but it’s time to stand up and be counted…..
….and I’ve counted 4,232 of you!!!!!
O.K., not all are based in the U.K. and can’t sign, so we’ll call it the best part of 4,000 maybe.
Thats still almost (misfortune and acts of god granted) TWO-THIRDS of the all the members that make up the entire forum…
If just 500 of you chose to log in and sign up, it could make a difference……so come on, lets see some new names and make your very first TRF post be a great and worthy one….
Thanks in advance, and welcome!
Armchair fans, like most of you, need YOU!
January 8, 2009 at 06:13 #202464I tried to sign it using my aol email but, as usual it wouldn’t let me click on the link so used my yahoo address; do other people have this problem with their server or is it just aol?
January 8, 2009 at 13:19 #202470I would prefer the BBC to have no racing coverage at all; is there an option for that?
I’m confused as to why racing enthusiasts want more of such a shoddy product, which is both condescending and insulting to anyone who knows the first thing about horse racing. No other sports enthusiast suffers this.
I would sign a petition for the movement of all BBC racing fixtures to Channel 4.
January 8, 2009 at 13:54 #202474Done, and urge everybody to do the same.
Has anyone got an example of an instance when the idiots who pass for a government in this country have actually listened to one of these petitions?
The last one I signed was the hunting one, and a fat lot of good that did….
