Hi folks,
I’m making a horse racing magazine as part of my uni dissertation, and would love to get your feedback on a few things.
I’ve done a survey here which I promise takes no more than 45 seconds, would be very grateful for all replies.

Thanks in advance, oh and get your money on Coneygree for the GC, printing money I say!
November 3, 2016 at 23:07 #1270386Thanks to all that have replied so far.
Comments much appreciated and noted. Anyone with further ideas that doesn’t with to complete the survey feel free to let me know on here. Cheers
November 4, 2016 at 00:15 #1270397stroudy, I hate to dampen the enthusiasm of youth, but save yourself time and money and effort. The Racing Post is finding it tough to survive. The Sport or whatever they called it lasted about two minutes. I see Pacemaker, which was around for many years has now been incorporated into Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder and seems to be digital only.
Print publishing in general’s in terminal decline. In racing, it’s already pretty much dead.
Good luck (and, by the way, don’t waste your money on Coneygree either!)
JoeNovember 4, 2016 at 00:25 #1270399Well I know of The Racing Post and I believe Racing Ahead is pretty successful! It’s for a dissertation so is unlikely to reach the shelves, but you never know.
When Coneygree comes out and wins the Betfair (maybe?) they’ll be no 12s about I know that much
November 4, 2016 at 09:40 #1270484I can confirm Racing Ahead a monthly magazine (paper not glossy, but in colour) is still going and has been for a number of years.

JoePacemaker has been combined with Thoroughbred Owner and Breeder for some time now. It is still available in print edition by subscription and some W H Smith stores stock it (I know it is in the Birmingham store). I get the digital edition though, pretty good value at £1.99 per issue. Still probably the best racing magazine around.
November 5, 2016 at 15:21 #1270863Kenh, it looks very good value for money – £19 a year for digital. Just found the format awkward and annoying but probably still worth it
