Took a very nasty looking fall and they had to bypass the last while she was hidden behind the screens.
I hope that she will survive her injuries, otherwise I would say that she was killed almost on purpose. ALMOST.
What is a 11 year old mare doing in a beginners chase????
To me this is a more serious matter than the stereoids found at someones yard. A relatively lightly raced horse running at the age of eleven for the first time over fences on the worst possible ground.
Don’t tell me that the connections really loved her. But let’s hope she has survived her fall.March 2, 2014 at 12:08 #469701Looked really bad , poor girl
March 2, 2014 at 12:36 #469704I don’t see anything wrong with running an 11-y-o on heavy ground in a beginners chase. If anything, it’s better than firm ground due to the easier take-offs, slower pace and softer landings in the event of a fall.
I really hope she pulls through.
March 3, 2014 at 11:15 #469804Firstly she is owned by her trainer.
Secondly, she’s been lightly raced her whole career, it’s not like she is running every 2 weeks, so what is the problem with her running in a novice chase? She’s been running in hurdles, perhaps the trainer feels like she would suit fences more?
