6-year-old Birkside trained, by Ollie Pears, made it 14 wins out of 50 attempts when winning the Book Now For Cash The Kids Night Claiming Stakes at Hamilton on Friday.

Birkside not only seen many race courses in his career, training establishments also. Ollie Peras is his 6th trainer.

    What a genuine performer.

Horses like this are the real heroes of racing.

Not those who run a couple of times and then are packed off to stud.

Always good to see a horse that will knuckle down and battle on.

I feel really sorry for horses that frequently change stables. Just when they’re getting used to a new environment and feeling at home, along comes the horse box and they don’t even get a chance to say their goodbyes. They must feel like orphan Annie or young Oliver Twist. I think I’ll start a campaign, ‘ Horses Deserve a Better Deal’
Birkside is a classic example of a sad and lonely horse running out of his skin in the hope that if he wins he’ll be rewarded with a permanent home.

Linda gathering a new team around her.

Looks like she has a good addition to her new stable with Birkside.

How much did she pay for him?
