Main interest here is in a pair who’ve ran well recently, Fortunate Man, and Val Dancer.
Val Dancer doesn’t look unduly punished for his Welsh National win, and given this was off the back of an impressive win at Carlisle, I just have the feeling that he might still be ahead of his mark. 8’s isn’t that bad, and I’m on the verge of taking it.
Fortunate Man is definitely capable of taking this, and his odds of 16’s are mad, but I think there has to be a chance he’ll head for The Kim Muir or Midlands National. 16’s fair tempting though
Others of interest include Jubilee Express, Apple Away, and the big priced Evies Vladimir, but preference at moment for the other pair
No bet yet
Fortunate Man
Val DancerJanuary 29, 2025 at 22:47 #1719133Jubilee Express ew 4 places for now.
February 2, 2025 at 18:35 #1719697Broadway Bot for me 12-1, with the National weights having been out a few days before
February 5, 2025 at 11:41 #1719838Looked at Broadway Boy as well Roses, and quite like your Aintree bet on him too, but I’m going to just go for it with my original pair
Looked at the rest of the field, and bar Apple Away and Chambard, who I’d consider with a small interest on the day, there’s nothing much grabbing me now. I did also look at Jubilee Express and Evies Vladimir, but come day of race I suspect they’ll be short enough anyway, so I’ll just crack on
Val Dancer the main one probably, just because of the reasons above.
Fortunate Man is riskier, given that I have they other targets in mind, but the 16’s has me taking a chance. Doubt he’ll run here though
Fortunate Man 16’s
Val Dancer 8’sFebruary 12, 2025 at 16:40 #1720410Jubilee Express 5-1
February 14, 2025 at 20:26 #1720537Fontaine Collegnes is hard to predict. Runs terribly to win by many lengths next time. At this price it is worth a go.
Fontaine Collegnes 18/1
February 14, 2025 at 21:04 #1720545Was just going to give some loyalty pounds to Val Dancer but trainers views have put me off. She doesn’t think the track will particularly suit. No bet and will Obviously win.
February 15, 2025 at 07:50 #1720574Apples Away looks perfect for this , main play and I’ll tickle Gala des liteaux e.w , decent renewal this
February 15, 2025 at 10:49 #1720591Yeah Man is the right favourite and I fancy him to land this again. I’ll back him up with Git Maker although I do wonder if Cheltenham is the plan again. Trip should suit.
I’ll leave Royale Pagaille alone against my better judgement. We’ll see if he can still be competitive on his National mark.
February 15, 2025 at 11:59 #1720609The trainer has talked me out of Val Dancer so down to the bottom with Jubilee Express.
The more I know the less I understand.
February 15, 2025 at 12:03 #1720614Got this wrong so far. Not worried about Fortunate Man, as I always expected him to to miss it, but Val Dancer was one of my bigger Antepost at 8’s. I’ve topped up at 14’s anyway
I’d no intention of backing my old pal Royal Pagaille after that Peter Marsh run, but I have to cover him at 11’s round here
Royal Pagaille 11’s
Val Dancer 14’sFebruary 15, 2025 at 12:12 #1720622I could’ve picked, virtually, any of these – it’s a toughie, for sure.
Went for
Famous Bridge, in the end, 13/2 (BOG).
Best of luck to all, todayFebruary 15, 2025 at 14:00 #1720646Jubilee Express at 8-1 for me
