Going, heavy my ass.
Tom lee said that Haydock had received 40mm of rain (1.6") <!– s:shock: –>
<!– s:shock: –>The going stick was chs 5.0 & hdl 5.5, the official going was given as heavy.
So how come when I worked out the going allowance I end up with -0.40s/f (good to soft) <!– s:shock: –>
<!– s:shock: –>Does anybody care…

December 20, 2014 at 17:10 #499085Nobody is surprised as Kirkland Tellwrong is in charge
December 20, 2014 at 17:27 #499088The going seemed better on the hurdles course than the chase course but the chasers finished tired so I wouldn’t disagree with the ground being heavy.
Wrong distances perhaps?

Wrong distances perhaps?I took another look at going allowance on the chase course and made it
-0.12s/f
slower than the hurdles course.
Haydock going allowances:
Hurdles-0.40s/f
(good to soft)
Chase-0.52s/f
(good to soft with soft patches)
Turf going allowance table:
Firm +0.55s/f to +0.63s/f
Good/firm +0.20s/f to +0.53s/f
Good -0.25s/f to +0.18s/f
Good/soft -0.55s/f to -0.28s/f
Soft -1.00s/f to -0.58s/f
Heavy -1.58s/f to -1.03s/fHaydock
