His whining is all a bit boring now imo. I don’t think of him as corrupt. But it’s all so irritating I would rather he was.

The BHA are a joke. Yes, Mr Findlay, we all know that.

As for the last line, he’s not doing this for the good of racing. He’s quite a strange man from a public profile/PR perspective. What does he want from his ego boosting sessions?

The Sunday Forum he had was even stranger. Edited, condensed, on his terms etc. He said he’s moving to Australia – when is he going?

For those that can’t be arsed to read it all:

"On July 15, I successfully had the six-month ban overturned by the BHA’s appeal board and I was left to pay a fine of £4,500. I have not made any public comment since. Which is more than can be said for the BHA, whose Head of Communications Paul Struthers continues to have discussions about the details of my case on internet racing forums."

Ignoring the public comments he has made since then, including this one on the 10th Sept – http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/racing/findlay-accuses-bha-of-vendetta-2075247.html – I’ve searched all my posts for the last few months and, unless I’ve missed something, I’ve not said anything, barring a comment I made last week on Twitter (and maybe on here) asking where all the hand-wringing was about the 6 months for Hassiakos being harsh. So that part of the article is palpably untrue.

I also told Mark Davies that what he’d heard/wrote was utter bollocks.

Would have been much better all round if he’d kept to his word and not owned another horse in training in the UK.

Alas that appears to be something that Harry Findlay is incapable of doing.

In his situation many of us would have said we wouldn’t own another horse in the uk….man changed his mind big deal!

I’m kind of one way and another with Harry Findlay. I find him irritating to read about but when his big mug pops up somewhere I find him somewhat entertaining and he comes across as guy who woud be fun to have a few jars with.

As far as talking on here goes, irrespective of by who, he’s got to expect that. If you are going to be as upfront as he is then people will talk.

Not saying anyone for the BHA has said anything but it’s not like he’d give away "Secrets" if he did anyway.

Harry himself said I am a celebrity did he not?

Unfortunatly when you are a celebrity self acclaimed or otherwise, you can gag yourself all you want but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to or will.

For a man who says he can live with people loving or hating him he’s well over the top with the nit picking statement in that article IMO

Just a footnote: Have to agree about him laying Gullible Gordon with no intentions of malice…things a friggin monkey and no one needs inside info to know that. Won today funny enough.

However rules are rules and we should all abide by them eben if they seem stupid at the time.

I’m sick of him; far from being good for racing I think he’s damaging and I wish he’d kept his word about never having horses again (or indeed, about going to Australia). When he had a go at Doncaster he said all he wanted was his respect back – well it’s his behaviour that damaged the "respect". He should have got a decent lawyer at the start and conducted himself with some dignity.

Did have a laugh when Gullible Gordon won today though.

"I won’t run horses in my colours in protest; my mother’s still upset; and my wife will never go racing again."

Are we supposed to be upset by this?

There are so many inconsistencies in what he says it’s untrue and I’m almost beginning to pity his apparent lust for exposure. He wants the entire racing world to sit up and listen to what he has to say, but he has no interest in anyone else’s opinion. It’s him and him alone, until it’s convenient to hide behind his mother of course, or the "financial muscle of Manton and the Sangster family".

Like so many obnoxious and arrogant characters – and ‘characters’ is a term I use loosely – he’s become a parody of himself and remains concerned only with keeping himself in the public eye. If people are talking about him he’s happy; his aim is to be

    the

    owner, rather than

    an

    owner.

I thought the following statement was particularly revealing:

But more than all that, it was known in racing circles that I had gone to the sales and with my last few quid I bought 16 two-year-olds. Every penny I had was tied up in those two-year-olds I had the balls to buy. The ban would have been just as the horses were coming to fruition. If it had been any other person — without the financial muscle of Manton and the Sangster family — they’d have had to sell all those horses immediately because they wouldn’t have had the finances to keep them going. The Sangsters paid for my half. Otherwise they’d have had to sell £600,000 worth of horses, none of which had run, and take what they could get for them. If the ban had stood, the BHA may as well have hung me up and left me out to dry.

Who in their right mind spends every last penny on 16 unraced two-year-olds? Someone with "balls" it would seem and therein lies the essence of Harry Findlay. It’s also the reason he has done us all a disservice by not sticking to his word and moving to Australia.

Maybe he thinks it takes even bigger "balls" to publicly go back on your word?

I, for one, have had enough of him, irrespective of how inefficient the BHA are.

Not enough to deserve him, I agree. Somewhere else should have the pleasure of having him, though.

I think that he is miffed that he has been singled out for treatment seemingly to the exclusion of everyone else who is laying their own non triers everyday.

I cannot understand why Harry dosen’t come on here and talk about his many issues. We could ask him why BF censor threads on him on their forum. Free speech for Harry and no-one else.

    Blimey. "Everyone else, everyday."

Should be pretty simple for you to name us, say, a dozen or so of these people for starters then?

Interesting language & turn of phrase from our regulatory body…is that part of Racing for Change?!

I do hope so. Looking forward to the Racing Post headline:

‘Nicky Henderson banned from training for six months cos Paul Struthers thinks he’s a bit of a knobhead.’

That has tickled me I must admit, though having shared a plane and an hour’s conversation with Nicky I would argue that he’d (at the very least) be a thoroughly likeable knobhead.

I don’t know why his name came to mind! Could’ve been anyone!

    Come on FIST
"However rules are rules and we should all abide by them even if they seem stupid at the time."Jesus speak!
How about guidelines? Please never stop using your brain.I know people who sit waiting for the lights to change at 3am on a lonely street. If only the people in the twin towers had cast aside the rules (no elevators in emergency,or fire; amongst the rules)many would be still alive.Forgive me it is hardly the topic of this thread.

You might want to warn your friends who don’t mind driving through red lights at 3am of the other road users – the ones around the corner which he/she can’t see or the clubbers on their way back from a night out.
