It’s going to be Harry vs. Alan Lee of The Times
Why, have they history? I don’t recall anything in the past, wasn’t Lee in favour of owners laying as long as they were a net backer?
Findlay v Neesom would be more interesting.August 3, 2010 at 15:16 #310759It’s going to be Harry vs. Alan Lee of The Times, refereed by Mr. Chapman.
Does Findlay get to choose who he will appear with and does he vet the subjects that are to be discussed?
August 3, 2010 at 15:16 #310760Perhaps I misinterpreted the ATR build-up to the fight of the century. Reading your comment Yeats, it now sounds as though it could be just a gentle walk in the park and a useful PR exercise for Findlay.
August 3, 2010 at 15:40 #310766I have always found Alan Lee to be quite underwhelming. The obvious one is for RUK to invite Findlay to go Head to Head with Neesom. Then we could see how game Harry really is.
It’s so hard to tell whether or not Harry is a villain or a hero in all this. Unfortunately his closeness to the likes of Culhane and Murphy don’t sit well
August 6, 2010 at 08:08 #311244Just a quick line to clarify re blog.

I do the site myself using free software so it’s not always the slickest on the web perhaps but I does me best!
It is of course a blog, so it’s a personal site and I don’t pretend to offer balanced objective analysis on all topics and would acknowledge the legitimate arguments against the stance I took on piece in question. It was largely a rhetorical stance designed to stress the main point. Racing has moments of great sporting resonance for all of us who have the bug but those who run the industry are missing the point (imvho) if they don’t fully grasp the extent of betting’s significance in what we have to offer. Not something to be ashamed of but rather leveraged. Failure to do this has cost the sport of racing (there I called it a sport!) gazillions of pounds over the years.
As for the radio silence, I’ve just been on holiday in an area so remote and exotic that no modern digital communcations were available….
norfolk!
final ps, my blog is not a forum like this excellent site and I carry a link on my blog for TRF. It really is a personal labour of love which I hope may be of ocassional interest for others.August 8, 2010 at 05:38 #31163810:30 am this morning, sky channel 415 ATR.
August 8, 2010 at 08:54 #311658So will they ask Harry to explain about his Laying Exemption which he alleges that the BHA gave to him. Paul Roy denies the truth of that Findlay statement. It’s the pivotal qusetion for me as they bot can’t be telling the truth.
Will Alabn Lee get a word in at all between Chappers & Harry!
August 8, 2010 at 10:04 #311673And the point of that show was?
August 8, 2010 at 10:07 #311675Great interview Harry. Thought it was a good show.
August 8, 2010 at 10:11 #311676Was interesting while it lasted. Why the hell was it only half an hour long today?
I despair I really do!!!

There was 2 points in the show that indicated it was edited, not sure why they would edit the show as I thought it was live?
August 8, 2010 at 10:35 #311682Tepid stuff, definitely recorded, you could see the cuts.
Why was Chapman wearing a life jacket in his interview with Paul Nicholls?August 8, 2010 at 10:48 #311683Why was Chapman wearing a life jacket in his interview with Paul Nicholls?
August 8, 2010 at 11:10 #31168630 minutes, edited and it never really flowed? They would have been better off doing a separate show with "Harry" if that’s what they wanted. He waffled on enough when he announced he was disqualified on ATR, so I’m sure time can’t be that much of an issue for him.
August 8, 2010 at 11:45 #311689Harry really has some great points regarding the Betting Industry.
I wonder will we ever see him on a Sunday in the Pointing fields in Ireland
August 8, 2010 at 13:21 #311704Rather disappointed, as I was looking forward to it, however clearly edited beyond belief.
August 8, 2010 at 19:24 #311753What a strange show that was! The editing was quite funny as I initially thought my Sky Plus has started jumping
Findlay talks a hell of a lot of sense and then comes out with some absolute rubbish. He actually said that he watched the Findlay/Barber dispersal stood next to Barber and Nicholls. Then said he was asking Barber for advice when Nicholls was bidding for Barber against him!!!?
When Chapman asked him why he bets on horses if he loses, he waffled on about comission and didn’t answer. The last bit of the script was just so pathetic when Alan Lee was in a rush to say how wrong the BHA had been in doing Findlay blah, blah, blah. He then said that we should all be grateful for the magic of the Findlay/Barber partnership!!?
I can’t understand what Findlay is tring to achieve with his public performances and extensive PR operation Is he just an egomaniac or some sort of illusionist.
His put-down of Dave Nevison was pure class if a little cruel. He said he’s a professional gambler with 90 jobs
